“Perfect cottage, perfect location, perfect owners” I stayed at the cottage in april with two elderly people, one of whom was in a wheelchair. The facilities were fantastic for disabled visitors. The cottage looked like we were the first occupants, it was in pristine condition - we were really surprised to learn that it had been a rental cottage for around 2 years. The owners were lovely - nothing was too much trouble, although they were not intrusive. The location is absolutely beautiful - on the side of a hill in the Brecon foothills, with fantastic views and a field of very friendly sheep adjacent to the garden. We loved it so much that immediately re-booked when we got home to take my granddaughters there in the Summer holidays.

Pet friendly Clares Holiday Cottage with stunning views & green credentials

Chepstow cottage

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Great holiday in a fantastic cottage” Clare's cottage is just simply fantastic. We had a very warm welcome from Helen the owner when we arrived. Who gave us some great advice on the best walks nearby and details of all the local amenities. The cottage itself is very cosy and comfortable with everything you could ever need and more! The wood burning stove is great if you just want a nice chillout after a long day walking. The location is very good too as all the local amenities are only 3 miles away in Chepstow, which is a nice little town, and which also has the castle and museum for you too take a look at. There are also some othergreat places to visit nearby the cottage you can find details of them in the excellent welcome pack in the cottage. The garden is lovely, and dog safe. If you are looking for a great place to stay in South Wales we really do recommend Clare's cottage. We can't wait to come back again at some point in 2014.

DRWS NESA at the Cyder House Farm.

Usk cottage

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“a lovely weekend in a beautiful tranquil spot” We visited Drws Nesa the weekend of the 9th March and were greeted warmly on arrival by our hostess Sue and shown to our accomodation,we were very impressed by the cottage which is very roomy for two people with all mod cons, all beautifully clean, warm and well presented with a welcoming homely feel. Fortunately for us the weather was fine and bright though cold which meant we were able to get out and walk one of the many walks available in the area.We also visited Tiger Bay which was very impressive with lots of restaurants, shops , a theatre and other amenities to try on our next visit as unfortunately we didn't have time to do it all justice. The location of the cottage means that you can be quiet and chilled out or, if you want, take a car ride visit Cardiff or one of the many other places of interest near bye. If you do not want to cook good food can be had at the local pub which is within walking distance (What we did was drive to the pub ,walk back and picked up the car the next morning) Sue was very informative about the local area and could give us advice on the best places to head for in our limited time. Sue's partner Dave was in the middle of "lambing" and kindly introduced us to his flock and the lambs that had already arrived a lovely experience for a couple of "townies" We both enjoyed our weekend very much and look forward to our next visit

THE COACH HOUSE, pet friendly, character holiday cottage, with a garden in

Gilwern house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“Stunning views over the Usk Valley” We chose Gilwern as we have previously visited the area and always planned to go back. We arrived and were given a warm and friendly reception by Nicola. Nothing was too much trouble. The property is brilliant, lots of space and a bedroom with a balcony and views to die for out across the Usk valley to Sugarloaf and the Black Mountains. The property is sited about 1 mile from Gilwern centre which has all the basic amenities - minimarket, petrol, pubs, newsagent, pharmacy, doctors surgery and even a chip shop. Just down the road is the town of abergavenny with a superb range of food and other shops as well as several supermarkets. Arrange a visit in September to coincide with the abergavenny food festival. Gilwern sits on The Heads of the Valley road so access to Cardiff, Swansea, the Brecon Beacons and Brecon town, the Forest of Dean and the Black Mountains is simplicity itself. If driving is not your cup of tea then there is walking in all directions and of all standards on the doorstep. The Brecon Beacons Horseshoe is a challenging walk and again only about 40 minutes drive to the start. There is even the Monmouth and Breckon canal with towpath a few hundred yards down the lane. Industrial archeaology abounds with Blaenarvon Iron Works (World Heritage site), Clydach gorge and iron works and Blorenge Mountain and its network of tramways and quarries all within 10 miles. We loved every minute of our stay. The only downside is that the local pub is at the bottom of the hill that leads up to the Coach-house, alright going, a challenge for the return journey. The best bit, we're booked in already for next year

Bethel, 2 bedroom bungalow in Gower, Wales, United Kingdom

Swansea cottage

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“A pleasant stay in spotlessly clean, comfortable accomodation.” We spent an enjoyable week, the booking service was excellent and the bungalow was spotlessly clean when we arrived. A small problem with the shower was repaired promptly by the on-site caretaker. We explored the local area mostly on foot, it is possible to go on lengthy walks without using the car. There are a variety of beaches nearby.

Foxes Reach (Holiday Cottage Nr Tintern, Wales)

Tintern house

“Very nice indeed” Had a lovely time at this cottage. Hot tub was of course as amazing as you would expect! Owners were friendly and helpful. Garden was very secure for the dogs. Location was excellent and whilst there were neighbours we rarely saw anyone - which we liked. We were surprised to get home from an outing once to find the owner inside the property carrying out maintenence without telling us and he also turned up un-announced twice, which we werent really keen for. Was generally tidy and the little extra's were very nice. The vodka was lovely! Thanks. Would recommend to others but would not return.

Tintern Abbey Cottage

Tintern house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Peaceful, rustic charm with luxury” Wonderfully situated cottage with views of Tintern abbey. An excellent base to explore the Wye Valley, and the added attraction of pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. The cottage itself has everything you would need, and is tastefully decorated. Luxurious and comfortable bedding. Comfy sofas in living room and attractive dining room. Kitchen well equipped though we did have a few problems working out the oven (having accidentally switched it off, which we had been warned not to do, so our fault). The woodburning stove a real focal point and welcomed in the wild February weather! It was a bit of a pain having to remember (in our case write down) a code to open the door instead of having a key, especially in the pouring rain, but I suppose it is easier to manage than keys. My only suggestion would be having a small porch outside that door for weather protection as it is not pleasant punching in numbers to open a door with rain pouring on you. But I am perhaps being a bit picky and overall the experience was excellent, and we would definitely book again. Must also note charming and helpful owners, Malcolm and Fiona.

ALPINE LODGE, CASTELLAU, LLANTRISANT - 12 MILES FROM CARDIFF. CF72 8LP
Snug and cosy cottage in peaceful green countryside

We were looking for a quiet two nights in a natural setting and it was perfect. This one bed cabin was warm and cosy on a rather rainy and cold weekend but we also enjoyed sitting out in the grassed area during sunny breaks, visiting the ducks at the pond and listening to the birdsong all around us. Rita explained everything well and was very friendly. Just be aware that you need to put Pound coins in the electric meter which is located near the floor under the counter, but we fed it with several coins at one time and only had to do it once. There is no wifi so it will be a completely restful time. It had Books and DVDs and TV. Plenty of places to visit in surrounding areas, including Cardiff.see more

Peace and Tranquillity

We were welcomed by Dave who showed us around a most beautiful cottage. It was spotless, well appointed and somehow we felt as if we belonged. On top of this Sue and Dave had put flowers in the lounge and left us a tray of eggs, a pot of delicious home made jam and a cold bottle of very drinkable white wine. We were even greeted by Dylan, their lovely dog. Drws Nesa appears to rest in its own microclimate. During our stay it was bathed in sunshine the whole week whilst just a few miles away there were dark clouds and a few rain showers. What a bonus!!see more
Oak Barn, Crwys Farm, Three Crosses, Gower, SA43PX
Glorious in Gower!

We, (eight people) stayed at Crwys Farm from the 20th to the 28th Aug. 2016. The Old Barn was a home from home. It was very comfortable, extremely well equipped (the kitechen area had everything required for a fully self catering holiday) in a way that was clearly well thought out, and was laid out inside in a way that was on first sight spectacular. We have stayed over the years in a number of places, but this was one of the very few that we actually looked forward to going back to. There was only one issue that we encountered, and that was car parking had not been adequately organised, although this was a minor point as we found parking space directly adjacent to the property. With regard to its location, on only two days of our seven did we have to travel more than 30 minutes before we reached our destination for the day, and with the Gower Peninsula as it is, we could have spent the entire holiday and more not having to spend more than this on a daily basis in a car. Although we went at the height of the season, what we payed amounted to only about 28 pounds/night, so for a large family with a liking for the outdoors, the countryside and the coast, I can heartily recommend the Oak Barn.see more

Beautiful cottage with stunning vews

The owners were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Every need was catered for and the beds were very comfortable. A nice quiet location and very close to all amenities. The cottage was spotless and the owners had obviously gone to great lengths to make sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely revisit and would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to visit the area.see more
