Benefiting from easy access to M4, 5 miles junction 34, this self catering,self contained lodge has much to offer guests wishing to relax and unwind in a rural setting. Kingsize bed in bedroom. Open plan dining/sitting/kitchen area. Separate shower unit/toilet. Nestling in the quiet hamlet of Castellau, it is ideally situated for both Cardiff , the Rhondda Valleys and coastal areas. The historic town of Llantrisant with restaurant and craft centre is only 2 miles away. Golf and fishing are within easy reach. Close to hand is the award winning Rhondda Heritage Park, the Museum of Welsh Life at St. Fagans ( a walk around Wales from Celtic times to the present day) as well as the Royal Mint. Within a 45 minute drive to the north are the Brecon Beacons. To the south is the Glamorgan Heritage Coast offering superb walking terrain amidst some wonderful scenery. Equipped with all the basic essentials, this compact, cosy lodge serves as a comfortable base for those seeking to get out and about. A holiday here can be as busy or as leisurely as you like. Off the beaten track, with no passing traffic, why not relax, unwind and recharge your batteries. Shop and pub 1 mile. We enjoyed a lovely peaceful 2 night stay in a cozy lodge. Awful weather but it just meant we had an excuse to stay in! Anita was very helpful and the accomodation had everything we needed. Would visit again.

Lovely cabin, nestled in a forest, you wouldn’t think there were towns so close by, I had such a relaxing weekend, didn’t want to move from the cabin, it was perfect.

“Lovely relaxing weekend away”

My husband and I booked this weekend away for our 10th wedding anniversary, we just wanted to get away and relax and we were not disappointed. A bit of an odd drive in but nice when you get to the cabin and grounds, only 4 lodges there and the pair of ducks were cute on the little pond to feed. The cabin was very basic but lovely, bedroom really nice but bathroom and kitchen very basic, however as long as your looking for a rustic charm you will like it. Cabin also has a great little private garden to sit and relax and enjoy the evening in peace with birds and wildlife. Good location, Llantrisant was lovely with wild ponies roaming around, with nice walks. We visited Ogmore-by-sea which is fantastic, you can go pony trekking across the sand dunes, grab an ice cream and enjoy the beaches and walks along the river mouth. We also found a quiet beach by Porth Cawl, however the main beach has a surf school, and rock pools if you take children. There are lots of super markets around we used Lidl which was a short drive and shopping outlets and pubs if you want to eat out. We had a lovely weekend, really enjoyed our stay and would go back again as a couple or with the kids. Rita was also very helpful showing us around the cabin and how everything works, thank you.
