Description
Our self-catering cottage sleeps 2 in a simple but cosy environment. There is a large living room with dining area and a wood burning stove (wood nearby). There is a double bed on the mezzanine floor which can be used as two singles if required. Free WiFi, there is a TV with DVD/VCR in the comfortable sitting area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooker, dish washer, washing machine, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and washbasin. All bedding and towels are provided and there is oil central heating and double glazing throughout. Outside there is a patio with a chimnea, dining furniture, sun loungers and a barbecue . The boiler house provides a drying room should we lapse on the weather. Dogs are welcome and love it here - they bring their owners back regularly to walk up onto the Sugar Loaf directly from the cottage.
The farm backs onto the oak woodland and open moorland of the Sugar Loaf, allowing you to walk and explore the magnificent views and countryside, leaving your car safely parked on the yard.

“Shepherd's Cottage at Tyn y bryn”
A charming and well cared for little cottage with breathtaking views of the Skirrid - with access to woodland walks as well as the Black Mountains yet only a short drive to Abergavenny for shops and restaurants. Perfect hosts close at hand for advice and help if needed.

“Ideal”
Mein hosts were always helpful, chatty and willing to answer any questions we had. Great cottage in a perfect location for our first visit to this area of Wales. Good WiFi, comfortable, wildlife is very near visually and audibly. Cycling and walking ideal for us (easy stuff cycling and moderate for walking)

“Outstanding”
We have just got back from a short break at shephards cottage. We had an amazing time. The cottage and location is perfect. Lovely walks, bbqs, it was very romantic. We had the best weather we could have hoped for and both came back tanned. Chris and Sandra are a lovely couple, always on hand, but respectful of your privacy. Perfect hosts. Thankyou.

“Relaxing short break”
The cottage is in an idyllic location with stunning views and ideally located for a walking break. The owners, Chris and Sandra, are very friendly and make feel welcome immediately you arrive. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will not hesitate to come back at some time.
