Description
This one bedroom apartment can sleep 4 people and is in a superb location on the frontline of Alvor beach. The beach is literally on the doorstep – miles of golden sands of one of the best beaches in the Algarve. The views from the south west facing balcony are of the beach, Alvor Bay and Alvor itself, with Lagos and the Monchique hills in the background. The apartment is in a quiet location and, being the end of the Torralta line, is private and not overlooked. The location is ideal at any time of year, for holidays with families or for longer winter stays.
The apartment has an open plan living / dining area with air conditioning, two sofas (that are also two single beds), with WIFI, cable TV and DVD free. Panoramic windows give views of the beach and coast. The sun terraces runs the length of the apartment, with room for table and chairs for outside dining. There is a family shower room off the entrance hall. There is a kitchenette – small but equipped with all you might need - microwave, electric hob, kettle, fridge freezer. There is also a washing machine. The bedroom is a double room (can convert to 2 singles) with a large ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. The bedroom has sliding door access to the sun terrace. The room also has cable TV. Towels and linens are provided for your stay. A welcome pack can be arranged on request. The apartment is on the beach – 100m and your toes are in the sand. Alvor beach is a long stretch of clean, fine sand, popular with locals and visitors. There are some excellent beach restaurants serving great food and drinks all day long. To the west you can see the curve of Alvor Bay, and walk along the boardwalk by the Ria de Alvor – a nature reserve. To the east, at low tide you can explore the cove beaches and strange rock formations of the coast.
The apartment is just a 5 minute walk to the village of Alvor - one of the Algarve’s most popular destinations. The village has succeeded in retaining it’s essence along with offering all that you could want for a superb holiday and that is it’s charm. The warren of narrow winding streets offers a huge selection restaurants, cafés, bars and shops. From the high point of the village church – which boasts a remarkable Manueline doorway and has been the setting for many a wedding, head towards the pedestrianised centre of Alvor. Most streets lead down to the riverfront. Recently renovated , this is the ideal place to relax. Choose from the several cafés, all with open air terraces and enjoy the views across the Ria Alvor. There is a small marina that offers boat trips and from the river walkway there are pathways to the mudflats and marshland which make the estuary a nature lovers paradise, particularly bird watchers.
Alvor quite possibly has more restaurants per square metre than any other point along the coast. You can choose from the beach restaurants which offer very good food and the most amazing views or head into the centre of Alvor and try to decide between Portuguese, Indian, Italian or Chinese cuisine. An absolute must is fresh fish brought in each day by the local fishing boats, grilled to perfection on the open barbeque, served with a salad and washed down with some of Portugal's excellent, but under-rated wine.

“Brilliant location”
This apartment is perfectly situated for the beach and the town. The beach being only 200 yards approx from the apartment and about a 5min walk to the main town. There is ample of room for a family of 4. Though there is a car park on the same side of the block as the apartment this did not impede at all on our holiday, the large balcony provdiing uninterrupted views of the sea and across to the town. We had the use of a swimming pool approx 100yards away. Antonio met us at the apartment on arrival and he was very friendly and jolly - his response to our query regarding the air conditioning was dealt with the same day. One very small comment is that it wasn't fully air conditioned - but we acclimatised over the holiday!
