Description

Authentic 17th century winemaker's house in the tiny village of Saint-Dézéry near Uzès. Entirely renovated to offer you all modern cons while retaining its original character and period features, this charming stone house of 107sqm has 3 large bedrooms and can accommodate up to 7 people (6 + extra bed).

Between Provence and Languedoc, the sea and the Cevennes piedmont, our village provides you a great base to explore a very rich and diverse region. Whatever your age and interests (nature, sports, history, culture, wine, gastronomy...) you will find a vast array of historical towns, landscapes and activities within an hour reach. In winter Uzès is well-known for its black truffles and January offers truffle centered events and activities such as markets, cookery-course, menus…

Interaction with guest

We live on the farm opposite and are on hand should you need information, assistance, suggestions of visits or activities matching your specific interests. My family has been farming in the village for at least 4 centuries and my parents know a lot about the history of the region. Many years in London in the wine industry promoting wines from the Rhone Valley or Languedoc, enable me to help you plan winery visits. Having worked for a wine tourism company, and set up many press and trade trips I also hire my services as a day trip guide or bespoke organiser for your full stay. In any case don't hesitate to get in touch ahead of your stay to get ideas of places to visit.

Response from the owner Hi Ged, Thank you for writing such an extensive review and for being a fantastic advocate for our region. Winewise the area has certainly come of age and boutique wineries have popped up around everywhere making excellent and as you point out often organic or biodynamic wines. Some are already well distributed and well-known but there are many undiscovered gems looking for wider distribution abroad so It is a truly exciting time for wine lovers who want to keep ahead of the crowd. You are welcome back anytime; Emy is already looking forward to warmer days and the return from guests.
