Description
Our 18th century farmhouse has been tastefully converted to create Aran, Tryfan and Sygun cottages. Retaining many of the original features these cottages offer good holiday accommodation and provide the perfect base to explore the wonders of North Wales.
All accommodation is set within 4.5 acres of privately owned mountainside woodland and only 300 metres from the start of The Watkin Path to the top of Snowdon, as well as opposite one of the most beautiful rivers in North Wales and between Lake Dinas and Lake Gwynant, our accommodation of all types is the ideal base from which to explore Snowdonia with its spectacular scenery and fascinating mix of mountains, lakes, woodland and streams. The whole site and all accommodation is dog friendly (small charge made).
A short drive away you will find the pretty mountain village of Beddgelert with shops, restaurants and pubs. The village is famous for its legend of Prince Llewellyn and his dog Gelert and a walk to Gelerts Grave is a must during your stay. The beautiful sandy beaches such as Black Rock Sands (dog friendly all year round), Caernarfon Castle, Snowdon Mountain Railway and the Festiniog & Welsh Highland Railway are within easy reach.
For those wanting adventure, Snowdonia is THE place to come; not including the obvious climb up Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales, on our doorstep you can also take part in Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Gorge Walking, Canyoning, Pot Holing to name but a few.
The largest of the properties situated within the farmhouse, Aran cottage offers spacious accommodation for up to 10 people. (2 on a double sofa bed) The ground floor accommodation comprising of a living room with the original open fire place, comfortable sofa, freeview television and DVD player.
Across the hallway is another large reception room with comfortable seating which leads onto the kitchen/diner, this makes a great place to gather and socialise. The kitchen/diner has all the usual kitchen utensils plus gas hob, electric oven,large fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.
The first floor provides 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size 4 poster bed, wardrobe and chest of draws. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed, large pine wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 3 has two single wrought iron beds and chest of drawers. Bedroom 4 is small with a double bed. An additonal double sofa bed is provided in the lounge / kitchen downstairs. There is a large bathroom with bath and electric shower and toilet. There is an additional bathrom with toilet and hand basin.
Aran cottage has fitted carpets throughout and is heated via electric heaters in each room. The lounge and the lounge / kitchen both have log burners. Logs can be purchased on site for £8 per basket, including coal and firelighters.
Feather duvets and pillows, bed linen, towels and electricity included at no extra cost. (please let us know if you need non-feather duvets and pillows)
Dogs are welcome at £10 per dog per stay.
