“Just what we were looking for” This was one more leg of our journey... Lisbon-Algarve-Lisbon, and we stayed at Susana and Sergio´s places the whole time! Excellent for our family, we loved the place. Really good to get out to the beach, but with the beautiful outdoor pool in the condo, we actually spent most of our time here, in and out of the water. We loved that the condo was in a natural setting, this was important for us. Very tastefully decorated on the inside, and we were amazed with the traditional tiling used inside. All round an excellent stay.

Perfect location for a relaxing family holiday

From start to finish this was an excellent experience. The communication with Sergio the owner was excellent before we booked and then subsequently; keeping in touch and sending directions and all the details we needed. The accommodation was just as described - well equipped and extremely comfortable. Shaded dedicated parking spot for the hire car and what a pool! The gardens and pool were actively maintained throughout our 2 weeks, there were sufficient sun loungers if you bagged them at 9am so we spent most of our days alternating between sun bathing and swimming in the huge and attractive pool, including some night dips. When we did venture out we weren't far at all from some great restaurants, beautiful beaches, and interesting towns such as Silves and Monchique but you will need a car. We got lost getting on to the N125 from the airport but after this we managed to navigate to everywhere we wanted to go without needing to use the toll road at all. You will need a car here as it's too far to walk into town (Alcantarihla) but we actually liked its slightly more rural location away from the resorts and crowds. Mosquitos were a problem in the area this summer. This we understand to be unusual and because the local council tried to save some money by not treating one of the rivers. So worth packing insect repellent for the evenings and buying some fly spray from the supermarket when you get there. Also, the local aldi (still a drive away) would only accept Portuguese credit cards so be warned. However, every other supermarket, restaurant, etc did no problem. Patricia, the house manager, lives two doors away from the condo and welcomed us on arrival and was full of useful tips on where to eat and where to go. We took our two teenage children and they said it was one of the best holidays they'd had. I'm sure this was helped by the free Wifi so they could stay in touch with friends on their iPad!
