“A warm cottage with plenty of home comforts and a beautiful gard” We were very late arriving from Rosslare to Skibbereen. It being very dark we phoned the owner for directions. She did more than this, she came to Skibbereen and guided us the 8 kilometres to our cottage. The following day she helped us to find our way to and from the main road to our cottage. She allowed us to take our two large dogs, off the lead, around her beautiful gardens. The property was at all times warm, comfortable and cosy. Our landlady was always helpful when we needed information

“A great value for money country home!” This farmhouse is situated just 2 km from Glanworth and 5 km from Mitchelstown overlooking fields and an old stone bridge across a river. A very tranquil spot and very handy for visiting Cork city and the beaches of the south. Liam and Jennifer are charming and accommodating hosts who went out of their way to make my stay extra special. My room was lovely and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was delicious. A great value for money Country Home!

Archies

Skibbereen house

“Idyllic!!” We stayed here at Easter break. Fairytale setting for kids with access to the milking in the evening and space to run around all day. The house itself is so well equipped and warm yet very cosy and full of character. The location is ideal, rural setting yet only a mile outside the bustling town of Skibbereen. I cannot praise archies and the welcome we received at abbey Farm Holiday Homes. Highly recommend a visit!!

“Comfortable apartment near the city” We stayed there for a week came to Cok for a family wedding. Beautiful apartment , spotless. Two comfortable double beds, dining table seats 4 with reclining leather couches in the living area, kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need. There is a lift from the basement and the parking space for the apartment is near the lift. A car is not necessary as the bus stops outside the door. Ideal for us to meet relations but to be able to retire to our own base without staying with relatives

The Haggart

Skibbereen cottage

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 3

“Really nice cottage” We did change cottage whilst we where there due to someone booking extra nights in The Haggart, but we did stay in the one next door, and it was a really nice place. Coal fire two bedrooms two bathrooms and a massive open plan dinning/lounge/kitchen area. The grounds of the cottages where really nice and open. We had our little pug puppy and he loved the running around indoors and outdoors. I would really reccommend this cottage to anyone. Its short drives to coastal areas and if you are into seafood there is a great place in Baltimore called The sea front. all in all ten out of ten area and cottage. karl karen and Ziggy

About County Cork

However, take a trip a little further afield and you'll discover the old fishing towns and villages.

What to do

If you're looking for more adventurous activities, you may decide on taking a cycling trip, try your hand at horse riding or even have a go at some water sports to get your adrenaline rushing.

For cultural options, there are plenty of museums, art galleries, theaters and heritage sites to suit all tastes. One of the main attractions is the Blarney stone, located in the castle grounds in Blarney. The "Old Post Office" Urhan on Wild Atlantic Way
Perfect: beautiful, comfortable and so much extra fun

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Old Post Office home. The landscape surrounding he house is peaceful and beautiful with sheep grazing out behind the yard while we had or happy hour in evening and coffee in morning. The view out front is one of the best sunset views I've enjoyed. We took a sunset walk by the cows, amazing! (See photos) This is the best house for groups with kids! We had 3 full families stay with lots of space. The large entertainment room has a sound system with Disco dance lights which our kids loved having dance parties. Also, a projector and great selection of movies to watch like a movie theater on the white wall was so cool. Our group had a ping pong in the great tournament as well. So fun! House was clean, beds were comfortable, many bathrooms and a modern kitchen. Daniel is so helpful and nice. After you book he really goes out of his way to give clear instructions and advise on what to see around the area. The Urhann Inn pub 50 steps down the street is so cute and the owner Ian very nice. We enjoyed playing games and having a few pints there each night. The drive is quite the experience to get to Eyeries with narrow winding roads, but the views and quaint villages in the Wild Atlantic Way are unmatchable. Thank you to Daniel for making this house so wonderful. We have made great memories there.see more
Lugdine Lodge Glengarriff
Home sweet home

We felt like Lugdine was more like a home than a holiday rental. Carpeting in the living room, hallway and master bedroom which was nice on the tootsies. Light and airy inside; a nice fireplace to burn turf in; comfortable furniture in the living room; nice tables outside to enjoy the countryside.....it was wonderful. We aren't rookies at renting holiday houses and this one was 10 out of 10 for us. One pays for electrical usage and the oil for the heating (if you need it). We turned on the heating just to get the chill off and then we were fine with using the portable heaters IF we needed to. Wi-fi is pay as you go and if staying longer than a week, we would recommend going for the month rate just to be on the same side. There was never a problem with the wi-fi. Sean, the owner, was such a wonderful host and person. Made sure we knew about all the necessary points regarding the electrical, heating, wi-fi, and if we had enough wood and turf for our use. One can tell Lugdine is a labor of love for Sean and rightly so. Kitchen is stocked well with pans, plates, glasses and utensils. There is a dishwasher and clothes washer for use. There is a clothesline for hanging freshly washed clothes and a drying rack too. One unbelievable bonus for us was the Irish deer stag who showed up in the yard twice in the two weeks we were there. Cannot recommend Lugdine enough.see more
Four Directions Cottage
Perfect

A beautiful well equipped cottage. Spotlessly clean, we honestly could not have asked for more. Larraine had also baked a very tasty loaf of soda bread and had left us tea, coffee fresh milk and butter. Cottage sits at the base of hungry hill, the scenery is breath taking. We will 100% be returning. A 5 star stay. Just wished we had booked a longer stay.see more

Harbour View Apartments
kitchen equipped for a 5 star chef with amazing sea views

Our home away was a wee version of our home in Idaho. The kitchen had it all and if you weren't up for cooking a 5 minute walk brought you to the lovely village with amazing pizza. We found plenty to do both near, Cape Clear and Kinsale, to far, Dingle and Kenmar. The skibereen rowing club is nearby as well. It was hard to leave.see more
