“Very peaceful and modern accommodations in the mountains” We (4 adults) stayed here a week in april 2013. We had the upstairs 3 bedroom (Zerbera). It has a wonderful patio deck with nice views and an outdoor Barbeque. Interior is nicely finished and modern with tile and wood and a fireplace (the only heat, which may be an issue in early or late season). The price is very reasonable for all the amenities, the modern furnishings and the 3 bedroom 2 bath configuration. Dimitris and Eleftheria were very gracious and attentive to our needs. Cindy's bag did not arrive at the airport, they were even kind enough to fetch it for us in town when the baggage service called. Extras included samples of olive oil, local wine, and raki (very strong alcoholic drink). About 11 km over narrow winding roads to the National Road at Kolymvari, a good sized town with all the essentials, groceries, fuel, bakery, pharmacy, bank. Excellent location for Kissamos area and Falisarna (stunningly beautiful beach and ancient ruins) and Elafonisi. Our best day trip was over back roads to Sougia and Lissos, a really beautiful drive in spring. Also the large ancient olive tree at Vouves is close to here. If you want to explore the Chania town area and points east, this location is not as good, but doable. Highly recommended as an alternative to the busy beaches and hotels, especially if you like to prepare your own meals and enjoy the mountains. Dan, Cindy, Chris, Debra
