Found it easily but the entrance is easy to miss and went past it a few times. Had a warm welcome. Off road parking good. Nice kitchen and great country views from the dining room. Lounge comfortable and cosy. Good size bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Basin in bathroom was small but good bath and shower. Lovely garden and conservatory for peace and quiet. Can hear the whistle from the steam railway nearby. Convenient access to main roads and motorway to get about. All the main supermakets convenient.

“A Home from Home Vacation” This accommodation was ideal and met all our requirements. It had everything to help make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The bedrooms were cosy and clean, the bathroom with its spacious shower was also lovely whilst the kitchen and dining area had more than adequate facilities. We spend all our evenings in the spacious living room, watching TV (as it was part of the Wimbledon fortnight!). We could not have made a better choice for our base to explore the Peak District.

“Pet friendly and peaceful.” A delightful, cosy cottage ideal for a peaceful break. Our dogs were made to feel very welcome. Situated on a farm, there were lots of places to walk and a very good pub serving excellent food was within walking distance. The addition of coal and other fire making materials made the cottage warm and cosy once the night set in. The Dales are only a short drive away along with quaint market towns that have quirky shops and lots of cafes.

“Great location” This was a well-appointed cottage with everything we needed and the owner gave us a friendly welcome. But but what made it outstanding was looking over the valley from the patio at the back. We had marvellous views ranging from beautiful sunsets, great cloud formations with a rainbow to early morning mist wreathing the fields and trees. And we were within walking distance of the pub and church to cater for our physical and spiritual needs.

“Fantastic holiday cottage” We stayed for a week in august this year and took our dog with us. The cottage was beautiful and had a huge garden overlooking an equine centre. Surrounded by stunning views and plenty of lovely walks, The main bedroom had a velux window which was lovely for laying in bed looking at the stars too. A well equipped, comfortable cottage that I would not hesitate to recommend. Our only suggestion would be to have a side gate erected to make the garden safe and enclosed for dogs.

About Peak District, Derbyshire

Phenomenally picturesque, the Peak District is not named for its mountains (as it doesn't have any), but for an ancient tribe that was believed to have resided in the area.

The landscape can be considered to split into two geologically contrasting areas; there's the White Peak with its limestone dales, famed for its rare flora, including orchids and Jacob's Ladder; and the Dark Peak, where the hills are higher and there's lots of heather, bogs and moorland.

What to Do

Kids will love Gulliver's Kingdom, a charming little theme park in amazing surroundings.
