“Perfect!” Visited DR for my daughter's senior Spring Break. While most chose an all-inclusive resort, we wanted the space/freedom of a condo, and Ilia's place did not disappoint... a really special and absolutely perfect vacation! Rental, arrival and check-in were streamlined and simple, and Ilia's driver, manager and maid were all very helpful and welcoming. The condo itself is lovely -- photos are accurate -- and well-located within the complex. The balcony has an unimpeded view of the ocean just a few steps away, and you are also steps from one of the pools. Morning coffee or evening wine with that view + the sound of the ocean = perfection! The complex, including a private stretch of beach, is beautifully maintained, and we never had a problem finding a beach lounger with a direct view of the ocean, whether on the sand or in the shade. Guards on the beach keep away non-residents and the more aggressive vendors (but not the ladies selling massages in the shed next door -- highly recommend!). Activities can be purchased on the beach or from a condo resident. Kids enjoyed ziplining and parasailing. Dining options in the area are fabulous! Within a 1-10 minute walk of the complex are numerous restaurants with great, eager to please service and very affordable prices. Didn't have a bad meal all week, but our favorites were Citrus and Pastrata. Also liked the French bakery across the street, despite the unwelcoming service...Everyone else we encountered, though, was lovely, and we appreciated their help with our dreadful Spanish! For nightlife, there are numerous beach bars, but daughter really enjoyed joining the locals at Danny's across the street from the complex. Sidenote: Friends at the aI resort were told it was dangerous to go off property, but we found this completely untrue...walked everywhere at all hours and never felt unsafe. Our group (both kids and adults!) agreed that a condo -- this condo -- was definitely the way to go. Thanks Ilia and crew!

“Great Place To Stay!!!” I found this bungalow by chance. I was looking for a place away from the noise and action and I found it in this place. Very well kept, lovely pool. and everything that you need. You can take a nice 5 min walk to the central or take a motoconcho which those guys close by are great men. I stay there every time I am in the Sosua area. I feel like it is my home when I am there. Privacy is important to me and the bungalow provides that. The owner and his friend makes sure that everything is ready for your stay. I recommend highly!

“A week of tropical relaxation!” Ivan, We have been home nearly 2 weeks now but find ourselves still thinking and talking about what a wonderful time we had. We found the condo exceptional. The attention to detail in the condo was impressive. That along with the beautiful view from the condo and the great location of the condo on the property made it truly seem like the perfect accommodation. A short 4 minute walk to the beach or another short 5-6 minute walk to the Mariner Restaurant and two larger pools. We cannot say enough about the staff of the Fishing Lodge. It seemed they went out of their way to anticipate our every need. Delicious food, entertainment, cleanliness, hospitality and excellent service along with the beauty of the condo and resort provided us with a very memorable vacation. We hope to visit again. “Better than excellent!!” We've traveled many times to the DR and we never had such a wonderful , relaxing holiday. The manager/owner Liz goes beyond customer service, she made us feel like family. From the start of our reservation on line Liz was remarkable, she answered all our questions immediately. We traveled with family and Liz was able to make available two other condos for the family traveling down to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. Each and everyone of our group will definitely be returning. The condo had absolutely everything we needed along with a beautiful breeze on the balcony and close to the vast private section of the beach and all the restaurants. If you do not feel like cooking lunch you can order at the beach from the wonderful restaurant called Citrus. Very reasonably priced and great food. Within 3-5minutes there are over 6 wonderful restaurants The Bartender in the pool is always ready to make you an excellent drink. The grounds of Playa Turquesa were immaculate as was every other section of this gorgeous property. We will return in the near future.

“Better than expected” We loved our stay at Seawinds. The apartment was clean, spacious, exactly like the pictures, on a beautiful development and right at the deep-blue and turquoise ocean - the view is just breathtaking. The condo itself is well maintained and has all the appliances you need and more, nice big flatscreen TV and two great balconies with furniture. It was also very nice that things like suntan lotion and dishwasher detergent were available, so you don't have to buy all that stuff. There are plenty of plates, glasses, pots and pans, etc. The water heater broke during our stay, but it was quickly repaired the next day. We did have a couple of issues: 1) the water pressure is looow, it was so low that I couldn't get the jacuzzi to fill and I gave up after 45 minutes (pretty sure water pressure can't be fixed) 2) there was no manual in the apartment to explain how to use the WiFi (the password, that it works great on the balcony and the pool, but not in the bedroom), the TV, the water heater, etc., but we worked around that. The condo complex is also well maintained - there were people daily cleaning the pool, removing fallen leaves, etc. Loungers and chairs at the pool(s) are plenty and comfortable (there are 4 pools, but they're all really close together, so it feels more like one big pool). The water in the pools was a bit nippy, not something we would hang around in for hours. In fact, the ocean was warmer. There were hardly any other people, so if you like it nice and quiet, this is the place. The complex is about 20 minutes walk over the beach from most of the restaurants and we walked there every single night - very romantic in the moonlight! There are plenty of restaurants on the beach, from very simple to quite exquisite. Especially La Casita de Papi is worth mentioning. Activities also plenty (to participate or watch from the pool area) like horseback riding, kite boarding, windsurfing, etc. We would definitely recommend this place - you will not be disappointed.

“We come back!” We, a couple from Germany stayed for a week last March in the studio. We enjoyed the place a lot. The house is in a central location, a minute from the beach and several restaurants in walking distance. The owner family who live in the same building was very helpful and always available when we had a wish or a question. It is a quiet place with a wonderful garden and a relaxing pool area. We are planning to come back next winter but have not decided to take the studio again or the bigger and also very nice apartment right next door.

“We loved it!!” Joe the owner is a great guy, he made himself available from day one. The condo is very well kept full of bright tropical colors, nice decorations and it has everything you need while away from home. The beaches are both walking distance and the condo is also close to hair salons, restaurants, the supermarket and various shops including a grocery store around the corner. Juan was also very helpful and the price is great. I went with my husband and two children 8 and 13 years old and we all had a great time. Overall we would definitely stay here again!

“Great condo in a convenient location.” The condo was great...everything went smoothly from the time we arrived. The condo is lovely, the bed super comfortable and everything works well. Has everything you need. Location is great...just a 5 minute walk on the beach to the restaurants and. 10 minutes walk to Janet's if you need groceries. The street can be a little noisy on the weekends but if you leave the bathroom window and door shut, you can hardly hear it. Overall, our stay was fantastic! I would definitely go back. Just a heads up, condo is on the second floor and there are no elevators...we had to lug our stroller up and down which was fine, I need the exercise, but it would not work out for a wheelchair or anything like that.

“Apartment en Corales del Sur” Very clean and save apartment complex with a good floorplan. There you`ve got all what you need for a good time in Santo Domingo. The property manager, Donald Sanchez, is very supporting, always available and well organized. A good guy with a good sense of humor. The whole family is very welcoming. If you don`t want to stay too central or directly at the beach this property complex is recommendable to most people.

“Wonderful time in Playa Dorada” We stayed in Playa Dorada for the month of March 2014 and we really enjoyed it. I have travel a lot and stayed in many different hotel and condos, but this was the best. What you see on the internet, is the absolute truth. Cindy is a very honest and caring owner. I did have a couple minor issues during my stay, but they were quickly handle after I contacted Cindy. The condo is fantastic with very nice and comfortable furnitures and TVs, and the kitchen is ultra modern. We also really appreciated the outdoor BBQ (a very big and nice BBQ). The San Marino complexe is very nice and secure. The swimming pool is big and clean and the beach is only a five minutes walk from the condo, and at the beach you have very nice chairs and umbrellas. The staff at San Marino is excellent, the laundry service is great and not expensive. The condo is only ten minutes to Puerto Plata by taxi where you have the Las Sirenas store which is just like a WalMart (this is where we when for grocery shopping) they also have a Domino's Pizza. I visited the old San Felipe Fort, I went to the top of the mountain in the teleferic and had a really great time visiting many places around Puerto Plata. The only thing missing as far as I am concern, is something like a seven eleven in the plaza in the front of the condo. They have many things, but not your basic like bread, cold meat, butter and eggs. Beside that, they have many things. With all the condos being built around Playa Dorada, maybe someone will invest in a seven eleven or something like that. Beside that, everything was excellent, and God willing, I will go back next year.
