“Outstanding Holiday Cottage Experience at Driftwood House, Cornw” From my initial phone call to Sykes Holiday Cottages, to enquire about a winter break at Driftwood House in Mevagissey, to our final day at the cottage, everything went smoothly. Sykes staff were extremely helpful and friendly on the phone. The caretakers of Driftwood House were also very friendly. We had booked the three storey cottage, which accommodated 10, for 6 adults and 4 children, and there was more than enough room for everyone. The owners had decorated the cottage beautifully and there were some lovely little touches. There was also a piano, which the older children enjoyed playing. The lounge had an open fire and plenty of comfortable seating. This led on to a well equipped kitchen. The dining room was a fantastic space too and we all sat in there for a wonderful fry up on the Sunday morning. The three double bedrooms downstairs had ensuite facilities and the upstairs double bedroom and two singles shared a bathroom on the top floor. The cottage was just a few minutes walk from the harbour, which had several lovely pubs and some nice shops. There was a fabulous Portuguese restaurant just a few doors away from Driftwood House too. We visited Charlestown and St Austell while we were there. We loved the location and the cottage so much that we have booked to go back again in December 2010!

“Lovely well situated and modern cottage.” We found the position of an Kres ideal. The welcome was very warm and friendly from the owners and the cottage had every modern convenience one could wish for. It was very comfortable and had easy access to the village of Mevagissey and was not far from all the main roads to the rest of Cornwall. The nearby gardens of Helligon were wonderful and a treat not to be missed.

“Excellent Location for touring Cornwall” A well presented bungalow which was ideally located for touring Cornwall. Comfortable and warm with everything in that you needed. Owner met us on arrival and was very pleasant and gave us some useful information with regard to local interests and where to visit etc.

“Great holiday” The Round House was a lovely surprise when we arrived. I had seen photos, but when we got there we were really pleased with the cottage. It was very clean and tidy and the owners were completely non-intrusive, but happy to help if asked. The location is great and it is just a short walk into Tintagel... just far enough out of town to be nice and peaceful, close enough to get to the pubs and restaurants, have a few drinks and walk back. It would have been nice to have a few maps and guides available in the cottage as there are lots of walks to be had. I would definitely recommend the cottage and would go back myself in the future.

“Modern Yet Rustic” We wanted a quiet retreat for two in a good location for walking in the area and Sunny Cabin delivered on both counts.It is small yet charming. The only improvement would be a separate bedroom but for us it didn't really matter. A great centre for visiting lots of the local attractions and some fantastic coastal walking.

“West Country Wonders” Good service from start to finish. Home was beautifully decorated and nice and central for sight seeing. National Trust properties close by, nice walks, beautiful coastline and interesting towns. Only blip was not being able to find the house easily-perhaps instructions could be improved? We couldn't see the name 'The Old Smithy' anywhere. Otherwise 10/10.

“A lovely well-equipped cottage with a garden which overlooks the” The owners of the cottage live next door and were very friendly and extremely helpful.On our arrival,we found the cottage well-stocked with provisions (tea,coffee,bread,cereals etc.)The cottage has plenty of car parking space and a really good LCD television set with a DVD library.The only difficulty we had was in finding the cottage as the instructions we were given are rather 'sketchy'. We thought these should be rather more detailed.The cottage is conveniently located reasonably close to the town centre and roads to the major holiday centres.A large asda supermarket is also very accesible. Although the weather was a bit mixed,we really enjoyed our stay and had plenty of time to enjoy the facilities of the cottage,particularly the garden where we had quite a few picnics. The service we received from the Syke's management when booking the holiday was excellent-friendly and efficient.

“Great base for exploring Cornwall” Only downside to this property is its location next to the main road. Side of garden overlooks a3075 which can get very busy but it does give you a quick access to the main roads when you want to get out and about. If you can put up with the road noise, which is only really noticeable in the garden, everything else about the property is brilliant. Good welcome pack on arrival and the property was spotless, well equipped and spacious. Pub down the road has a large beer garden and good food with numerous other pubs in the area. Tv reception was dodgy but that is true for a lot of Cornwall. Cider farm is within staggering distance, apart from a short stretch of the a3075. Would like to stay there again but we consider the price for 2012 to be excessive.

“Wonderful place to stay” We stayed at Kerriers Barn in august this summer for a week with our two small children (aged 6 and 3). The barn is wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is very much a home from home and Sarah has thought of everything you might need while you are on holiday - including a Cornish cream tea on arrival and a bottle of wine. The barn was extremely clean and well presented. The open plan kitchen, dining room and living room is a great space and the bedrooms and bathroom very comfortable. The gardens and hot tub were great and it was brilliant to have outside space. The barn looks better in real life than it does in the photos on the website - they really don't do Kerriers Barn justice! We will definitely be returning for another stay.
