“Amazing” It was perfect for my small family. My husband and kids played basketball 24/7. The owners really had a lot of personal touches and made the stay stress free. We enjoyed the cabin, hot tub, pond, canoe, gazebo, privacy!! I also appreciate the communication!! They made sure we received codes, where concerned when rain was forecast, willing to help with any detail. Already planning next trip!! Thank you for a great weekend!!

Hocking Hills Cottage with Beautiful Pond

Logan cottage

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 9

“Outdoor Wonder” We were looking for a secluded outdoor get away and that's what we got. The stocked pond was awesome and the whole family (non-fishers) fished and caught plenty of blue gill and a few bass. All caught and released. The walking trails around the property were nice. The location was ideal. Only less than 5 miles to Hocking Hills and Old Man's Cave where we spent a day hiking the trails. The views from the cottage to the outdoors was awesome. It could use a little srung cleaning but worked perfectly for us. The satellite TV came in handy during a rainy evening. The hot tub was wonderful. We experienced a brief storm and the power to the hot tub went out but we called the owner and he was able to instruct us on what to do and even offered to come out. We did not use the guest house so we cannot comment on it but the extra space looks nice for a larger party. Our family had a wonderful time thanks to this secluded cottage.

Timber Ridge Lodge

Logan chalet

5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 20

“'Timber Ridge' is a beautiful lodge with lots of amenities.” We took our children and grandchildren to Hocking Hills for a family vacation and stayed at Timber Ridge Lodge. The lodge is beautiful with lots of amenities. The linens were clean and plentiful, lots of cookware and the mattresses on the beds were really comfortable! There are so many things to do close by that it's hard to choose what to do first! We were a little disappointed in a couple things; the television is really small for such a large area. Because it's so high on the wall, it was very uncomfortable watching. We moved a couch for better viewing and the floor under and behind was covered with dead bugs and dirt. I expect to see bugs when staying in the woods (and was happy they were dead) but I think whoever cleans needs to do a much better job. The couches are difficult to sit on because they are very broken down. They look okay but are impossible to sit on comfortably. The pool table was really dirty and the top stained badly. The cue sticks were horrible. They were crooked and the tips were gone! I think for the price, these are things that could be easily fixed and would add more enjoyment to a stay. We had a rainy night and watching movies was a challenge for everyone. We had no problems with any of the appliances; all worked great and the lodge was cool enough that the children laid around with blankets! It was incredibly hot outside while we were there so the ac was wonderful! All in all it was a great stay and we would love to return!

About Logan

For some of the best parks in the country, local farm with delicious fresh produce, great breweries, and an endless supply of outdoor activities to enjoy, look no further than Hocking Hills. Your best bet for stylish boutiques and upscale dining options in town is Main Street while parks and sporting activities can be found all over town.

Be sure to make time for some of these must-see sights during your stay in the area:

  • Tar Hollow State Park: This is the third largest forest in the state and has over 16,000 acres, filled with guided walking trails and excellent hiking options.
  • Logan Antique Mall: This mall has over 100 dealers with antiques from almost every part of the country, some of which are turn of the century pieces.
  • Ash Cave: The largest recess cave in the state is the biggest geographic feature of Hocking Hills and also features a waterfall that provides amazing photo opportunities.
  • Hocking Valley Scenic Railway: Take a ride through the hills in a historic train with experienced tour guides.
  • Air Tours: Several local companies offer air tours, which allow you the opportunity to admire the geological landscape of Hocking Hills from above.
  • Go Horseback Riding: Take a leisurely horseback ride through the meadows of Hocking Hills.

In addition to the attractions throughout the many parks of Hocking Hills, there are also several events and festivals held in town throughout the year. Celebrate the summer strawberry harvest at the Newark Strawberry Festival in June, take a ride through the hills for breathtaking views of the Independence Day fireworks over town at the Fireworks Train in July, or enjoy the rides and competitions offered during Haunted Hockings in October.

There are many vacation rental options, suitable for all family sizes and budgets, in Hocking Hills. Book a home that's in the middle of town and puts you near the excellent dining options and rows of art galleries. Or, for a more rural experience, rent a beautiful cabin in a more remote part of town and closer to the state parks.

If you wish to explore other parts of Ohio, there are several places near Hocking Hills that make excellent day trips. The bustling college atmosphere of Athens, the attractions of Cleveland, and the historic buildings of Mansfield can all be reached within an hour and a half drive.

Double Pine Lodge
Large, well-supplied, private

The lodge, located about seven miles from Logan, is well-situated to get to most area attractions. It is quite large with the best room being the top one with a private bath. The first floor bed rooms are fairly large with two bedrooms below without windows. The hottub was great fun in the cold December air. We had some minor problems with water pressure and wind-related electricity outages, but the office was very responsive in dealing with the issues before they negatively affected the stay. Deer would come near the cabin at night. There was a pool table for additional entertainment, although the table could do with a bit of rehab. We had six staying at the cabin and it was large enough that we were not on top of each other. The wrap around porch is another asset. It was far enough away from other cabins that I neither heard or saw other people. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.see more

Cute 1 BR

We stayed one night during the Christmas season. Nice get-away with a great view of Lake Logan and a neat stone fireplace (gas insert). The owner indicated that a remodel was in the works this winter. That would probably take my review to 5 stars. We hope to make it back someday. … see more
Hocking Hills Cottage with Beautiful Pond
The Great Escape

If you are looking for seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the city- this is the place. If you need up scale aminities, look elsewhere. By that I mean - you may experience the grill catching fire due to residue settled at the bottom from many cookouts before. You may need to adjust the knob on the toilet to flush it- but turn it back off because it will leak. Such small inconviences for what you really get. Priced great. The fishing was so much fun. Bass, bluegill and if you are Savvy enough, huge carp! They bite and will take you for a ride! Butterflies galore. Turkey in the morning and a whole herd of deer and fawns making their way to bed down at dusk. Crafty spiders along the pond. There is a nice hot tub- but we were so in love with the fishing- out of our 4 day stay, we never got to dip our toes! Short drive for anything you may need- such as Walmart, Kroger, gas . Fun things to do, such as old mans cave and horseback riding. I will be back and I will bring my whole family. It will accommodate at least 12 people as there is an extra guest house. Loved it. Just what the doctor ordered.see more
Cabin and Private Indoor Basketball Gym, Hocking Hills
Best Cabin

This place was everything we were looking for and more. The interior of the cabin was beautifuly decorated and clean with up to date appliances and technology but still providing the cozy feeling. WiFi worked very well. The gym was a great bonus. The pond was a gorgeous plus that we want to try in the summer months because we will defenilty be back. So much available on the area itself, simply awesome. Loved that the cabin was in a sense secluded and away from main roads or other cabins. Billy was a great host, responded immediately to any questions or needs we had and a very nice person. Lots of places to visit in nearby areas and beautiful hiking trails. My only wish is that we had more days to spend there. Highly recommended even though I sort of want to keep this gem to myself!osee more
