“Superb Suite, Lovely Location” We had a fantastic stay in the Myrtle Suite while escaping our condo reno project! The Suite was the perfect home-away-from-home for us. It is cozy, new, spacious, clean, quiet, well stocked and equipped with all the essentials! I am particularly envious of the full kitchen; we wish our kitchen was this nice. And, the roomy bathroom (oh, great shower!), comfy bed, and the handy in-suite washer/dryer were much appreciated during our stay which felt more like a mini-vacation. So glad we didn't choose a hotel room! One of the highlights of our stay was the neighbourhood - great for walks and the views of the North Shore Mountains are the bonus. But, the nearby East Village is really special. It's the best kept secret for a local experience. There are lots of hip eateries (Tacofino, Campagnolo and Red Wagon) and culinary artisan shops like Moccia (eg Fig Tuscan sausages), Schokolade (handmade chocolates), and the Black Rook bake house...yum. We've lived in Vancouver for years and only discovered this off-the-beaten-track hood while staying at the Suite...crazy but true. So, if you're visiting Vancouver and want a real local experience with superb and good value accommodation, then we highly recommend the Myrtle Suite. The other highlight was the hospitable owner, Toni. She was so accommodating and we felt very welcomed in her home. Toni, thank you so much for the fresh tomatoes from your cute garden, a sample of your delicious Naughty Crow granola, and for the wine - all lovely personal touches that made our stay more memorable! You have a beautiful home and we wish we could have stayed longer; but we'll definitely direct our visiting friends and relatives to the Myrtle Suite!

“Comfort” The stay was overall very comfortable with the serenity of the island along with the comfort of a fully equipped house. From major things like the clean kitchen, bedrooms, patio to small things like poking rod next to the fire place, board games and balls next to the court were all very delighting. Enjoyed every bit of it and had a wonderful time in Orcas Island thanks to Cedar Field Vacation House. The only con was the complexity of the heating system to a person who hasn't used something like that before. It got toasty in the middle of the night as the settings automatically defaulted to a higher temperature after a particular time.

“Wow your place is such a restful spot” Jeannie, we can't thank you enough for hosting my wife and I recently at Beachwood Cottage. Your place was everything that we could have hoped for and more. It was the perfect nest for us to relax in the sun, breath in the ocean-fresh air, observe the birds and wild life and pick fresh tasty vegetables from your garden for our salad. When we arrived it was clean and as described on the web-site. What a welcoming experience. “A Special Family Home” Our family stayed at this comfortable home. We had a great time in a nice quiet neighbourhood. The home was clean and had everything in it including a washer and dryer for your use. The kitchen had all the appliances and dishes to make big family meals. It was spacious for our family to live and it had a fireplace. I will want to stay there again on our next trip in the area. It made a nice family union special. Laura

“Quiet” We fundamentally enjoyed our week's stay at this cabin. We had a really great time, despite the absence of a dishwasher ;-) ! In the end, we did not even have time enough to fully explore the island ... Unfortunately, the road to Anderson Bay was too rough to make it there, even with our all-wheel-drive rental car: we tried but gave up halfway, being afraid we would strand in the middle of nowhere, many km from civilisation (= Bob's Lake) and without cell-phone reception. We did not encounter a single other car on that trip, all day long! We also liked the Heischolt lakes and Shingles beach. The Raven restaurant had nice food and the general store offered very nice bread! We had excellent wildlife sightings from the cabin, including a snake on the steps to the beach and a pod of transient orcas passing through Gillies Bay on the first evening! We also had nice bald-eagle views, including an adult picking up a dead dog shark from the beach (which we inspected the day before at close range) and bringing it to its chick in the nest a few 100 m along the beach (down the road to Shelter park). We will be back in the future!
