“Paradise in Tuscany!” This lovely villa has it all and is the kind of place that makes you want to stay and 'while away' the afternoon among its many outdoor spaces: whether it's dining in the gazebo overlooking the vineyard, watching as the evening sun sets over the gently rolling hills, relaxing in a chaise by the glistening pool, enjoying a café crème or glass of wine on the patio surrounded by roses, lemon trees and pots of flowers, or gazing beyond at Cortona high on a hill or Trasimeno Lake in the valley below, you will come to know this is a very special place. La Valiana is centrally located for explorations to nearby villages and wineries, Cortona, lovely Pienza (a favorite), Montepulciano or easy day trips to Montalcino, Orvieto, Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Chianti and beyond. It is comfortable and beautifully decorated in classic, Tuscan style with fine architectural details such as wrought iron arched windows, doors and Travertine marble floors. You will be well taken care of and looked after by Cecelia and her Family who are the most gracious hosts - they are dedicated to making your stay a wonderful, memorable one, making themselves available should you need any assistance. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail will make you feel special and, at once, a part of the family. If you opt to have a meal prepared and waiting for your arrival after a long day of travel or touring, it will not disappoint and, quite possibly, could be one of the best meals in all of Tuscany, especially when enjoyed under the stars. “It was everything we had dreamed of and more...quaint and very c” The proprietor was very easy to work with and was so gracious. We had a wonderful welcome basket with lots of local goodies on our arrival. The home was more than adequate with five private bedrooms, ours was on the second level with living/dining area and a balcony. We enjoyed the infinity pool and the delicious fruit from the orchards. We were able to have a private chef come to our villa and cook dinner, what a presentation. Castelmuzio was the perfect spot for us, so quaint and beautiful. We downloaded Italy to our GPS and it was a piece of cake to sight see all the other villages. Don't miss Pienza, Montpulciano, Cortona, Orvieto Cathedral, San Gimignano, but my favorite was Monticiello, the view of the Tuscan Hills was breathtaking. If we ever get to go back to Italy, I would stay at Villa nell'Oliveto again...It was everything we dreamed of and more.

“Beautiful home and handy location” My husband and I stayed in October, 2012. The villa is beautiful with stunning views. We had dinner on the terrace overlooking the pool and hilly wilderness. The bathrooms are a large with great showers. Plentiful hiking options are just outside your door. The villa is well situated in easy driving distance from all of Umbria's charming villages and sites.

“The Most Wonderful Place” Words cannot describe my experience at Mulinmaria, but I will try... My original stay was in 2005 with my family. I was studying abroad in Florence, and my parents and siblings came to visit me. Instead of staying in the city, we opted for the country. My parents found Mulinmaria through their travel agent, and picked it primarily for its location. It truly is the ideal spot for easy access the Tuscan hill towns, as well as the larger cites such as Florence, Arezzo, and Siena. At the end of the day, after hours of walking around cobblestone streets and climbing hundreds of church steps, Mulinmaria served as a respite where we could relax, take in the earthy Tuscan air, and reflect on the beautiful memories we were making. On the second night of our stay, my parents hired Mulinmaria's owners, Nadia and Roberto, to cook for us. Roberto, a native Tuscan, grilled Val di Chiana steaks over an open flame, finished Tuscan style with coarse salt and rosemary. Nadia, a Bolognese-born Tuscan-transplant, baked pasta and prepared Ribolita (google it!), a Tuscan specialty. We were also treated to Nadia's freshly-baked focaccia and Roberto's homemade wine, as well as a number of vegetables that were picked that morning right outside the kitchen window. For dessert, Nadia baked a walnut cake and served us vin Santo. The meal was unforgettable. It was delicious and made with such love. At that dinner, we got to know Nadia and Roberto, and quickly learned that we were among truly special people. They are such incredibly welcoming, gracious, and generous people. Meeting the Rossi family is what truly made my stay at Mulinmaria so memorable. For me, staying at Mulinmaria was more than a vacation, it was an experience. It was an opportunity to get to know the Tuscan landscape and culture, to improve my Italian language, and to get in touch with a deeper sense of myself. I have since returned several times, and I know that Mulinmaria will always be special to me. I
