“Absolutely fantastic!” We stayed at Casa della Pergola in the second week of September with our 1-year old son. This house is very child friendly. Many toys and the big garden with many animals gave him a great time. Picking up the fresh eggs in the morning was one of his favorite things to do. The house is very complete in its decoration. It's perfect for a family, having 2 bedrooms. It's not very large, but we sat mostly outside on the terrace anyway. The owner was very helpful with picking us up outside the village, providing fresh fruits from his own garden and tips where to go. It was only a short ride to the beach, which was also great with it's gentle slope. Noto is a nice village close by to enjoy dinner or just walking around. Apart from mosquito's and some flies we had an absolutely fantastic time here. I would advise it to anybody. This house shares it's garden with yet another house for rent from the same owner (limone). It would be great to travel there with some friends and still enjoy your own privacy.

Pleasant holiday home at great location

This holiday home is situated in the middle of a huge lovely garden with lemon trees, ideal for children, who will also like the farm yard animals behind the fence (horse, donkeys, goats, chickens, turkeys). The hospitable owner of the house, Gioacchino, kindly provided us with fruit from the garden and we could have daily fresh eggs from the hens. The garden is shared with the adjacent holiday home, but the garden is large and there is a considerable distance between the houses and the trees in between provide privacy. The house is not particularly large, but it is functional and it has a nice terrace. It was nice to have Wifi, but most of the time the speed was only sufficient for e-mail and not so much for web browsing. The location is great: the warm Mediterranean sea is only a 500 m stroll away and a 15 minute drive to the pleasant town of Noto with its baroque Duomo restored after the 1990 collapse. The highway is close by, and it's s relatively short drive to magnificent Syracuse or the hilled cities with baroque churches of Ragusa and Modica or, if you venture further afield, the Pantalica Necropolis or Mount Etna. The coastline south of Syracuse makes for agreeable swimming. … see more

Luxury Apartment in Ancient Building.
All of Sicily

We stayed at Pallazzo Colpace for 6 weeks, and I recommend it absolutely. We stayed here from February 1 to mid-March, plenty of time for things to go wrong, but they never did. The owner lives on site--had we needed a toilet fixed ora tour guide, she was there. But the apartment is in perfect shape, no emergencies. (Somewhat rare in Europe: all those old pipes!) The rooms are beautiful: newly restored, modernized baths and kitchen, beautiful views. But most importantly, this apartment sits on the Ionian Sea, gorgeous views all day and night, and yet is in the heart of old Ortigia, an island evocative of old Italy. The highways from Siracusa take you everywhere in Sicily, so you can tour the incredible artistic sites, but staying on the island is equally satisfying, with the fresh market, gorgeous pallazzi, and wonderful small museums. We are going back next winter, but any time of year would be thrilling. We've rented many long and short term apartments; Palazzo Colpace is the most satisfying, and the most memorable. … see more

I stayed with my girlfriend for 2 nights in this perfect apartment. The location is great and the restaurant close to it is just wonderful (Osteria da Seby).
