“Kid friendly hot tub fun!” We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in the high mountains of West Virginia because of this prime rental. All of us loved the great kitchen, the big fireplace and the inviting hot tub. A great location - close to skiing or hiking. Just sitting on the sprawling deck and forgetting the rest of the world would have been enough!

“We love The Den” It's only fair to say this was our 6th visit over 10 years to The Den. Obviously, we love it and love the Canaan Valley. It's hard to imagine a more relaxing, refreshing vacation spot.

“Perfect Getaway” We have been vacationing in Canaan Valley for many years and this is simply the best place we have stayed. There is a lot of room inside and outside to play and have fun. The place looks brand new and is well-equipped. The location is more isolated and peaceful than other properties. Great place for family with kids. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

“Nice Home. Pretty Scenery. Relaxing.” This house was so enjoyable. The large deck was beautiful. My favorite thing was to sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and wait for the deer to show up in the yard. At night, we turned on the deck light and there was a raccoon eating out of the bird feeder. He put on quite a show for us most nights. With 2 living rooms, everybody could spread out if they wanted to. And even though it was July, we had a few fires at night in the fireplace to take the chill off. The area is beautiful for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking. As usual, we really hated to leave at the end of the week.

“CAWV Summer Camp House for the Spencers” We had a wonderful time in Calnaan Valley. We were in the valley for the CAWV Summer camp. The house was great. CAWV is short for Challenged Athletes of West Virginia. The camp that was put on was for Wounded Warriors and their families. We were some of the volunteers helping with the event. Will call you guy next year for this house.

“Moose Lodge at Timberline” This was a very nice house for our group (2 couples & 2 children.) For skiing, the mud room/laundry was very convenient. It was a rather long walk to the ski slopes, however--hard to drag the kids that far in their ski boots! Hot tub was great after a day on the slopes. Beds were comfy. I would have appreciated a better sound system for the living area--I like music more than watching TV.

“Good time on our 4 day Memorial Weekend trip” Timeless worked out well for our 3 family get together. It was very private which was what we wanted. Lovely view of the pond. Having the two houses allowed the younger adults to stay up as late as they wanted with out keeping the older adults up. We loved the hot tub, the fishing and the pool table. The kitchen was fairly well stocked but none of the can openers worked. The management company brought one out to the house. We should have told them to bring out light bulbs too. There were more than a few burnt out ones. Also, the place needs a bigger fridge or a second one. We had 12 people there and lots of food. Good thing it was pretty chilly the weekend we were there. We just used the porch to store the extra soda and beer.

“The location makes a very *meh* rental the bomb.” Excellent location: Very secluded. Very quiet. Walk from your front door to the 500th Wildlife Refuge trails. Access the Dolly Sods without leaving the gated community! Super close to ski areas and state parks. Short drives to awesome national forests & wilderness. Wildlife all over the place. House: Great bones. Once a really nice, custom home. Very clean - including the hot tub. Great fireplace (nice firewood.) Nice screened in back porch. Unfortunately: Kind of beat-up on the inside. Could us a lot of TLC. Mildew and musty closets. My wife couldn't be in the Master BR due to the musty smell. 2dn shower has an annoying high-pitched whine. House Furnishings: Just sad. Worn out towels, linens, couch / chair, cookware (and not great cookware at that - some of it busted.) Minimal supplies (no dish cloths or green pads, you get to run the dishwasher 4x/wk with what is supplied, bring your own laundry stuff. Firm, comfortable mattresses. Marginal cell reception and very slow internet service. True cable TV (not satellite) no DVR. A single old wired house phone. Exterminator came to spray during our stay (including front porch - rocking chairs, and back deck - hot tub. No notice, just started walking around the house spraying. Definitely not cool. Like I said, the location makes the place and in spite of all the rest, we loved it.
