Casa Mardi is ideally located for holidays, both walking and exploring the beautiful scenery of the National Parks of Abruzzo; for visiting the Adriatic coast and Pescara; for skiing in nearby Roccaraso in the winter and generally for exploring all that beautiful Abruzzo has to offer. Abruzzo is Italy at its unspoilt, natural best.

The accommodation is spacious, newly renovated and furnished to a high standard. It is our own holiday home and is furnished as a home from home with everything you will need to enjoy your stay.

The property is situated down a short private lane reached from the road going through the centre of Bugnara and there is ample space for easy, safe parking on the road.

There is plenty of literature in the property to assist you with planning trips or walking routes during your holiday - we hope that this will assist you in making the most of our time in this most beautiful and unspoilt region of Italy.

Casa Mardi is a medieval town house which was renovated recently to provide spacious, comfortable accommodation which retaining the medieval features of the house such as the vaulted ceilings. The ground floor comprises a very spacious dual aspect lounge with a range of seating for up to eight people, good lighting for reading and relaxing.

Information and books about the local area are provided for guests use, together with a variety of novels and games for your enjoyment whilst staying at Casa Mardi. There are beautiful views from the lounge, kitchen/dining room and both bedrooms out over the olive grove at the rear of the property and towards the mountains of Majella National Park.

The kitchen/dining room is also spacious and the kitchen is well equipped to a high standard with an electric oven, mains gas hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board and everything else you should need during your stay to be able to self cater comfortably. There is a dining table with four chairs.

Upstairs, there is a double bedroom with a very spacious en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, basin, toilet and bidet. There is ample storage space with a hanging rail, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets. There is also a twin bedroom with another large en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, basin, toilet and bidet. Again, this bedroom has a hanging rail, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets. Both bedrooms have small balconies from which you can admire the excellent views of the mountains of Majella National Park.

Casa Mardi is centrally heated and is a light and airy property well placed for you to enjoy all the seasons in Abruzzo.

“Lovely house, beautiful views, in a quiet and friendly village.”

This is a lovely family holiday home .It more than adequately housed our family of 6, including 3 grown up children , and a 3 year old grandchild. It has everything we required. The kitchen/ dining room has all the appliances needed. The lounge is comfortable and spacious. Both rooms have lovely views across the valley. Upstairs the 2 bedrooms have french windows to the rear, and being higher up have better views across the valley and to the hills beyond. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. Both bedrooms have beautiful en-suite bathrooms. The house is situated in a very friendly village 4 miles from the Sulmona, the main town in the area. The village has 2 shops and 3 bars. one of them sells prosecco on draught ! We were advised to hire a car to get around, but managed quite well on the local bus, although they aren't very frequent. There's a nice hill walk above the village. We had a lovely relaxing holiday.

“the house was freshly refurbed and comfortable,but it was not prepared for our arrival”

the linen and towels were new and so were all the fittings and facilities, but it looked like it had been empty for several months,the whole house was covered in dust and cobwebs,and we had to clean the whole house,it only took a couple of hours,but its what you expect to do at the end of your stay not at the start, although the boiler had been switched on we had cold showers for the first 2 days,till the agent sorted it out,(lovely lady thank you lorna) she was very helpful and made our stay easier,the house could do with a terrace or a balcony as there is nowhere to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views and sun,also not recommended for anybody with difficulty walking as it is quite a trek to the car park,especially if carrying cases etc(steep steps ),and if you have kids with you it could probably do with a tv/dvd player, but the local people are very friendly and polite and helpful ,the bar/cafe serves excellent food,simple fare but very good and reasonably priced(lovely t bone steaks) ,the location is very good for exploring the region,and easy to get to from any of the airports,overall i enjoyed my stay but we were out most of the time,the house is perfectly good but overpriced compared to other rentals in the village due to no outdoor areas,

We checked with our agent,Lorna, as we always do before the arrival of our guests and she assured us on the day before you arrived that the apartment had been fully cleaned ready for your arrival. She has subsequently confirmed that this was indeed the case. We have made her aware of your views and are would like to reassure you that every effort is made to ensure that the apartment is clean for the arrival of guests. The boiler is a pressurised one and there are full instructions in the apartment for guests to follow when they arrive but we are also now highlighting those instructions to guests before their arrival to assist their understanding of the system. The house is not advertised with outside space. With our best regards.
