“God’s “back yard”” I was lucky enough to be invited along on a ski holiday with a friend and we stayed in this wonderful house about half an hour's drive from the Kicking Horse resort. I've got to say this was an experience of a lifetime! Apart for the skiing at both "Kicking horse" and "Lake Louise" (just over an hour away), we got involved in some other experiences. X-country skiing was a blast but harder than I was expecting and my posterior will bear witness to that. But I had a go at sledding (we call it skidooing), we managed to this right out of the yard onto some exciting trails. But the ultimate was ice fishing! I could not believe it .. We took the sleds on a trailer a few miles up the road and then disappeared into the back woods for 10 miles. Cut a hole in the ice and caught our licence quota of five fish each, it was unbelievable. Anyway back to the Lodge .. this is something special, ideal for a family of up to ten or a group of blokes like we were. This place has all the facilities and is kept immaculate. There is a hot tub we relaxed in at the end of a hard day's skiing. Plenty of facilities for drying clothes with a very efficient laundry system. Big satellite TV. There was even a telephone to make free calls back to UK landlines. There is Wi-Fi which had a slightly intermittent attitude. One of the most important items was "Dan the Man" who takes care of the property and he has his own apartment separate in the cellar. We found he was a fountain of local knowledge and knew everybody and how to get stuff organised. So it ticked all our boxes and then some .. then to top it all you just look out of the window and see the views and you know you're in God's Back Yard. I want to go here again and again! Tips: Rent an SUV or even two from Calgary. Buy lift tickets at Coscos in Calgary. Use the Hosts on the Mountain at either Kicking horse or Lake Louise, it's a free service and they guide you around the mountain to all the best runs in the weather and they love to do it.

“Great location, great landlord, terrific place” This is a lovely rental on a quiet street close yet very close to public transit, shops, and within walking distance of some terrific restaurants. Fenced in back yard and pet friendly. The owner is just around the corner and available immediately if you need anything. I'd definitely stay there again and don't hesitate to recommend it.

“excellent stay with family” I love this place and have stayed previously on business travel in the one bedroom garden suite. Recently I brought my family for 2 months and we stayed in the 2 bedroom apt. We were surprised how much bigger it was than the photos show. The apartment is really well appointed, beautifully decorated and exceptionally sunny. The open concept on the second floor works really well for our family as we were able to work, cook and interact with the kids. Although it comes with aC we rarely used it as there is a nice large front porch off the living room with our own BBQ. It really felt like we were at home as the apt lacks for nothing and the hosts provided even books and toys for the children - and kids bikes. My kids liked playing in the backyard while we BBQ. The suite was exceptionally clean and the biweekly cleaning was very welcome as we have 3 young children. We loved the location and the easy walk to High Park where the kids loved the adventure playground, the pools and the zoo. My wife and I enjoyed Shakespeare in the Park. The neighbourhood is my favourite in Toronto, great shops and restaurants just behind the house and my kids loved the matinees at the Revue cinema on Roncesvalles(7 min walk). The only time I rented a car was for a trip up to cottage country. The commute to work downtown is great (either by subway or streetcar).

“great location and apartment highly recommend it.” I have stayed here repeatedly for business in Toronto. My most recent visit was during the worst winter and it was warm and quiet. Previously my stays were in the summer and I love the garden porch and BBQ. It was so nice that I ended up doing most of my work on the porch. Never needed to rent a car as it is so close to the subway and shops. I highly recommend this wonderful place. I have stayed in the one bedroom garden apt by myself and the 3 bedroom suite with my family and Dorota and Wies really make it feel like a home. I am not going back to hotel or Condo renting on any future visits.

“The Perfect Getaway!” I cannot say enough about Ron and Judy O’Brien and their beautiful vacation suite. We just returned from spending 10 days in beautiful Victoria. The suite was so comfortable and had everything we could imagine. Ron and Judy met us when we arrived and familiarized us with our accommodations. They were more than happy to give us some tips on what to see and where to visit, they even suggested some local musical talent that we enjoyed very much. Thanks to both Ron and Judy, our visit was effortless. This was our first experience renting privately. We own several time shares and vacation exclusively through them, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Our stay was exceptional. Thank you Ron and Judy. We hope to see you again sometime. “Beautiful, relaxing, charming - just the best!” Xanadu Estate is a short scenic ride north of Victoria. When we arrived at the property we were greeted by Jane who was an incredibly welcoming host. The property is set on beautiful acreage that was covered with all the wonderful colors of fall. The suite offered everything that one could want for a relaxing vacation. (It is just as the pictures show - large, comfortable, clean with all the amenities you could possibly want.)I was sorry that we were not able to stay a bit longer. It is only a short drive to many small communities, restaurants, shopping and the ferries. Around the corner is a wonderful little lavendar farm. Nothing could be better than to explore during the day and then come back to your wonderful suite to sit and relax with a glass of wine or a cup of English tea looking out over the beautiful view. I would love to return in the summer so that I could take advantage of all the wonderful outdoor activities that are available in the area. I would definitely recommend Xanadu to everyone - singles, couples, friends and families.

“A great place for a family vacation.” Our large extended family had a wonderful time at Stanhope Cottages. Our cottage was very clean and equipped with everything we needed and more. Susie was very accomodating and gave us great advice for local dining. The setting was quiet and an easy walk to the beach. Altogether, we were very happy with our stay.

“Pei Beach access family cottages feel like your PEI home” Over the past 12 years our family has returned many times to Stanhope cottages. They are located within easy walking distance of excellent PEI beaches in the National Park as well as golf, Covehead wharf fishing,and bike rentals for the trails. The cottages are well equipped, scrupulously clean and arranged for both privacy and easy supervision of younger children in a large grassed park area. Families should expect to enjoy pleasant days in the National Park, easy day trips to Charlottetown, Bbqs with plenty of seafood and peaceful sleeps to the sound of the surf.

“The owners were so hospitable our vacation was enhanced by them.” I had stayed in these same cottages last summer, and was pleased with their cleanliness and accessibility to the beach, so felt comfortable booking another stay there this year, as although they are under different management, thought I knew what to expect. We received so much more. We were a group of 5 adults, and one of our party is in poor health and rather frail. The owners went well out of their way to be helpful, gracious, and kind. It was a generosity of spirit that was so nurturing to our group, and we were very grateful for this unexpected kindness.

“Home away from home.” We've just finished our 3rd summer in this cottage, and plan on returning next year. The cottage is beautifully finished, fully equipped, and impeccably maintained, with plenty of room for ourselves and our kids. The owner's are always available, extremely helpful and friendly. Situated in a peacefull location, minutes from the beach, this has become our home away from home. We highly recommend it.
