“Relaxation at it's finest” Although it's a few mile from the nearest town and to me not a well known place, this place is a great place for most people whether your someone who likes to go for walks or just wants to sit back and relax, it's the perfect getaway. Compact and cosy is the best way to explain it. From the day we arrived we felt like we were made very welcome from the hosts along with the 3 dogs who always came to greet you every day. They allow you to take a tour of their land, which is around 3 acres. A taxi service is also offered if you want to head to a pub from Trevor which is extremely generous. The thing that made this place great for me has to be the hot tub. I want one haha. Despite not having the weather and not being able to see the stars, it is just so relaxing no matter what the weather is and chill with a drink at whatever time you like. Research for activities to do is best done before you head there but Gretna is a decent place to go to if you have never been there before. To summarise, we really enjoyed our stay here and would happily return if we get the chance.

“Heaven!!! Highly recommended ;)” Cosy homely feel, the owners were very welcoming and helpful always. Great location and hot tub was fab! Beautiful cottage with lovely log fire which made our Christmas week perfect including the Christmas tree provided, lovely touch. “Amazing house!” Having just spent a long weekend at Dalkeith House with the family I would highly recommend it! The accommodation is definitely 5 star luxury...large comfortable lounge with wood burning fire, TV room to chill out in, opulent dinning room where there is plenty of dinner service for you to enjoy a meal at the huge table and also a full china set that we enjoyed serving afternoon tea in! The kitchen has everything you will ever need and the breakfast room that looks out into the garden. The bedrooms are all spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are well decorated and everyone commented on how good the showers were! The house has a sound system that you can connect your i-pod to listen to your music in the lounge, dining room and breakfast room. The house is located in the main square in a quiet village so is perfect for getting away from it all. Thank you Barbara for a lovely stay at Dalkeith House.
