Additional Location Information

Located just 10 minutes from the center of Arezzo, our residence is located in the village of Castelluccio, along the banks of the Arno, in a strategic position that allows you to quickly reach destinations of great artistic and cultural interest such as Florence, Siena, Cortona, Perugia, Assisi, Anghiari, Sansepolcro, La Verna, Camaldoli and the National Park of Casentino Forests.

Arezzo is a beautiful Tuscan city of the most beautiful in the region even if perhaps a bit 'less well-known than others. Rich in monuments, churches and museums, stands proudly on a hill at the intersection with four valleys. Situated along the Via Cassia has always had an important role and importance in the history of Tuscany. The city has much to offer, in particular, should not miss a visit to the top where there is the magnificent Cathedral, dedicated to San Donato. Built on an ancient Christian church, the cathedral is famous for its beautiful stained glass windows, a masterpiece of glass, which were carried out in 500 by the French master Guillaume de Marcillat. Inside there is also a small fresco by Piero della Francesca depicting Mary Magdalene and some terracotta by Andrea della Robbia. After visiting the cathedral and the picturesque Town Hall Square, in front of it, we recommend a short visit to the gardens of Prato and the ancient Medici Fortress. After going down Corso Italia you get to the church of Santa Maria, characterized by a beautiful Romanesque façade in the colonnade, in the high tower, apse and bright interior with three aisles. Just below, around the corner to the left, we enter the most important square of the city of Arezzo Piazza Vasari called by Arezzo Piazza Grande. With its trapezoidal shape and a steeply inclined surface, the square combines different architectural styles and is the "living room of the city." Bordered on one side by the Vasari Loggia and the Palace of the Fraternità dei Laici, Piazza Grande is famous in the world to host twice a year the famous Giostra del Saracino, a manifestation of historical chivalry, which is reminiscent of the struggle against the Turks but also as the home, every first Sunday of the month, one of the best Shows Antiquarie the country. Do not forget it then as a film set of "La Vita è bella - Life is Beautiful", Oscar-winning film by Roberto Benigni. Last but not least, jewel of the city, is definitely the Basilica of San Francesco, located in the city center, within which is located the beautiful frescoes of the Leggenda della Vera Croce, a masterpiece of Renaissance painting by Piero della Francesca
