Description
Villa Maya is a lovely two bedroom villa next to a swimming pool and less than five hundred yards from Cavelossim beach. It has all the amenities and comforts to suit self-catering travelers.
The villa has a fully equipped kitchen, an open dining veranda and a lush private tropical garden. Restaurants and basic needs stores/grocers are all within walking distance. Despite its convenient location, the villa provides a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It offers the opportunity to take a dip in the swimming pool next door; work on your tan in the privacy of the garden; stroll along the sandy Cavelossim Beach at sunset; and relish delicious restaurant fare in the neighbourhood.
Rental includes full maid cleaning service six days a week and fresh linen twice a week.

“It just can't get better than this!”
I can't think of a single other place in Goa where you can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise over a river, and a awe inspiring sunset on the beach, all within a 10 minute walking distance! Luisa by the Sea is an awesome property, well maintained, and truly a hidden gem. I know all subsequent Goa trips are going to be centered around this peaceful property, with two quiet beaches close by, my fav restaurant, Fisherman's Wharf, a 3 min drive away and a serene river to walk next to. I've posted a separate detailed review of Luisa by the Sea on Trip advisor, so will not repeat that information here. We stayed for a week in Diggy's Villa Maya as a family of 5 (my parents, my spouse and me and our 7 month old baby), and truly loved every minute of our stay. The lovely compound, the river walk, the white sands of the beach were further complemented by the thoughtfully furnished villa, the comfort of our stay, and the warm neighbors - the D'mellos'. The villa is extremely well placed, and opens up on to the big pool which is very nice and well kept. The villa has a nice seating arrangement outside - both in terms of a cane table, concrete seating, as well as a hammock and sun loungers. We found ourselves spending most of our time outside in this porch, watching the sun hit the pool and create patterns on trees around. There was a nice patch of luscious green grass outside the porch leading up to the pool. The living room is well furnished with 4 single seater sofas. There seems to have been an upgrade - the TV in the pictures here is now replaced by a huge wall mounted LCD. The bedrooms both had comfortable beds, and very high quality linen. Diggy was kind enough to organize a baby cot especially for us. We really appreciate him making this extra effort on our behalf, since he had to procure a new one for our use. The bathrooms were a good size, with hot water. The kitchen was very well set up, with very high quality crockery and cutlery. The microwave, gas, and fridge etc all worked well. The washing machine is probably one of the most high tech i've seen! :) silly - but i got pretty excited about it since a large part of my holiday would have otherwise been spent washing the tons of baby clothes we seem to go through each day! :) The caretaker, Maria, was very efficient. I would recommend you check in with her / Sashi if you need something / find something missing. They will try and help you out as much as possible. Diggy was also very helpful, responding promptly to my questions, sending across a detailed information note a few days before our arrival, and frequently checking in during our stay to ensure all was well. It really was a pleasure being his guest at Villa Maya. I know i'll be back there - just have to figure out when! :)

“Great location, villa needs a little work”
Booking process handled very well by owner. Luisa by the Sea is a very pleasant estate of individual villas and houses, convenient for beach, shopping and restaurants.The grounds are kept very well. Villa Maya (No.22) is well-placed by the main pool, which is often underused, but on occasion noisy. The interior is adequate and fairly clean. There is a lack of attention to maintenance of old or broken fittings and the bathrooms are certainly in need of some refurbishment. It was a great base in Cavelossim, but lacked the attention to detail that would make it 'excellent' rather than just 'OK'.

Response from the owner Thanks for the review Peter. We appreciate all feedback. The plan is to refurbish the bathrooms this coming off-season/summer. Hopefully, that along with a general touch-up should get us into the 'excellent' category. Do look us up when you are back in Goa.
