“The warmest welcome.” We crossed from England to Ireland, docking at 6pm. We had a 2 and a half hour drive ahead of us, but the directions were spot-on. Easy, traffic free roads. We arrived at the village at about 8.30pm, and the lady who owns The Dispensary was waiting outside to greet us. There are no shops in the tiny village of Inch, so she'd left us provisions for supper and breakfast, at no extra charge. Home made bread and jam, sausages, bacon, tea, juice. Too much to mention. The nearest shops, pubs etc are about 4 miles away in a busy village. And a more major town is a seaside town called Youghal, just 7 miles from our cottage. The Dispensary is the best equipped holiday place we've ever stayed in. Truely a home from home. Even foil, clingfilm, all your linen including towels and bedding. Outside there is a brand new shed which is a fully functioning utility room. Washing machine, ironing board, clothes airer. The owners are not intrusive, but you are welcome to knock on their door for any directions and advice. They really enjoy their letting project. This holiday is a perfect retreat for anyone wanting peace and tranquility in and idyllic setting. We went there as a base to sight-see around southern Ireland. We loved it, but some of the journeys were epic - for instance from Inch to Killarney was a 2 and a half hour drive, before you even start on the Ring of Kerry. But there were plenty of more local sights - Cork, Blarney Castle, Cobh and many beautiful seaside towns. Well worth a visit is The Mahon Falls with it's Magic and magnetic road - look at it on Youtube. This holiday let, The Dispensary at Inch, was perfect for us. More than perfect. I can't remember what price guide it was given, but I know that at the time I believed that it had been underrated.

“A warm cottage with plenty of home comforts and a beautiful gard” We were very late arriving from Rosslare to Skibbereen. It being very dark we phoned the owner for directions. She did more than this, she came to Skibbereen and guided us the 8 kilometres to our cottage. The following day she helped us to find our way to and from the main road to our cottage. She allowed us to take our two large dogs, off the lead, around her beautiful gardens. The property was at all times warm, comfortable and cosy. Our landlady was always helpful when we needed information

“Idyllic!!” We stayed here at Easter break. Fairytale setting for kids with access to the milking in the evening and space to run around all day. The house itself is so well equipped and warm yet very cosy and full of character. The location is ideal, rural setting yet only a mile outside the bustling town of Skibbereen. I cannot praise archies and the welcome we received at abbey Farm Holiday Homes. Highly recommend a visit!!

“Really nice cottage” We did change cottage whilst we where there due to someone booking extra nights in The Haggart, but we did stay in the one next door, and it was a really nice place. Coal fire two bedrooms two bathrooms and a massive open plan dinning/lounge/kitchen area. The grounds of the cottages where really nice and open. We had our little pug puppy and he loved the running around indoors and outdoors. I would really reccommend this cottage to anyone. Its short drives to coastal areas and if you are into seafood there is a great place in Baltimore called The sea front. all in all ten out of ten area and cottage. karl karen and Ziggy

East Cork Rural Traditional Cottage

“Rural location peaceful break” Loved the light airy feel of the cottage. From the outside you may think it is neglected but inside everything is grand. It is warm , comfortable, ideal for one or two people. The cottage has been totally done up in recent years and lacks for nothing inside. The kitchen has all appliances , 2 rocking chairs for watching tv and a velux in the cathedral style roof that leaves the sun in in the evening to make it bright & airy & on a clear winters night you can look up & see the stars or the moon coming in. It is out in the country & a car is essential there , the nearest bus is about 4 miles away in Knockraha & the train is soon to open in Carrigtwohill about 5 miles. The local pub is about 1.5 miles away & the landlord there was kind enough to drive us back home one night we spent too much time there. For a country area the people are friendly and welcoming We used it as a base to see Lismore , we went to a traditional show at the Booly House in Ballyduff well worth going to see if it is still on when you get there ( I think it only runs during the summer) Went to Youghal , Ballycotton , Blarney Kinsale , drove back to Kerry. It is a good touring base

Lugdine Lodge Glengarriff Co Cork Ireland.
Home sweet home

We felt like Lugdine was more like a home than a holiday rental. Carpeting in the living room, hallway and master bedroom which was nice on the tootsies. Light and airy inside; a nice fireplace to burn turf in; comfortable furniture in the living room; nice tables outside to enjoy the countryside.....it was wonderful. We aren't rookies at renting holiday houses and this one was 10 out of 10 for us. One pays for electrical usage and the oil for the heating (if you need it). We turned on the heating just to get the chill off and then we were fine with using the portable heaters IF we needed to. Wi-fi is pay as you go and if staying longer than a week, we would recommend going for the month rate just to be on the same side. There was never a problem with the wi-fi. Sean, the owner, was such a wonderful host and person. Made sure we knew about all the necessary points regarding the electrical, heating, wi-fi, and if we had enough wood and turf for our use. One can tell Lugdine is a labor of love for Sean and rightly so. Kitchen is stocked well with pans, plates, glasses and utensils. There is a dishwasher and clothes washer for use. There is a clothesline for hanging freshly washed clothes and a drying rack too. One unbelievable bonus for us was the Irish deer stag who showed up in the yard twice in the two weeks we were there. Cannot recommend Lugdine enough.see more

Always had a welcome from dogs on return each evening. Comfy beds. Owners were so ., helpful and on hand if a problem. Only downside was TV could have been bit more modern Good spot but no amenities within walking distance, but with a car no problem. If you enjoy walking then excellent location..see more

kitchen equipped for a 5 star chef with amazing sea views

Our home away was a wee version of our home in Idaho. The kitchen had it all and if you weren't up for cooking a 5 minute walk brought you to the lovely village with amazing pizza. We found plenty to do both near, Cape Clear and Kinsale, to far, Dingle and Kenmar. The skibereen rowing club is nearby as well. It was hard to leave.see more
