“Nice place in a perfect location”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2021

A nice little place in a perfect location, suites us perfectly for the 4 days we stayed. My only thing I would say is that the place could do with a little tlc (a lick of paint perhaps). But nevertheless it was a wonderful get away.

“Good location”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2020

Firstly I must apologise as we omitted to read the instructions on what to do with rubbish at the end of our stay and overlooked dealing with it, realising too late, on our way home. This is a mixed review. Checking in worked perfectly. I would sum up the cottage as cosy with adequate heating while my husband would describe it as small and cold. We do agree that the location was perfect, the bed was comfortable and the linen in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen was fresh and clean. On the down side we also agreed that the cottage is looking tired on the outside and that the small appliances - kettle, toaster and hairdryer, could all do with attention. The kettle requires descaling or preferably a replacement. Both the kettle and the toaster are 'well used' and reflect that. The hairdryer's rear filter 'thing' was full of fluff. In addition the teapot was very stained, which although this happens to teapots in everybody's home; this was not my home but a holiday cottage and I guess I expected a sparkling teapot, inside and out. I could not find a pair of scissors or a tea strainer. Unlike other reviewers, we did not find the location noisy or the local pubs intrusive in any way, even though we were there over New Year. We were delighted with the cottage's location. It would take very little to make improvements to move the cottage up a notch.

We appreciate your comments and wanted to let you know we will be checking over all of the appliances and replacing where necessary! Overall I hope you had a wonderful time and will consider staying with us again, it was a pleasure to host you over New Years. Best wishes from all of us.

“Cosy little get away”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2019

We had a lovely time at the fishermans cottage it was quaint and cosy, had everthing we needed for a 3 night get away. The cottage is small but has a lovely charm about it. The stair case is interesting be nice if there was a stair runner on it to stop people from slipping as this was very easy to do, we took extra care on the stairs. Kitchen and bathroom were nice and workable. I loved the bedroom with its 4 poster and bear floor boards. Location was perfect for access to town, beach & ammenities. The only conplaint was the noise from the Albion pub i found it antisocial was awoken each night by the noise loud music volume going up and down. Shouting and unfortunately a fight on new years eve. Not nice to be awoken like that. However it was new year amd this was nothing to do with the cottage itself. X

Really nice cottage near to beach, shops etc. Only downside was parking could not find anywhere in the side streets and had to park in a pay and display.

Response from the manager Dear Ruth and John, We're very sorry to receive your review! The cottage is located in Cromer town centre and is indeed nearby to many excellent pubs, restaurants and cafes. This is usually cited as a positive feature in all our other reviews. Opposite the cottage you will find the Red Lion and its hotel rooms rather than apartments. Neither the Red Lion nor the Albion have a licence to stay open late however. Your feedback regarding net curtains will be taken into consideration, there are currently heavier curtains which can be drawn when you would like more privacy.
