Additional Location Information

Located a few blocks from the historic entrance to Cuernavaca from Mexico City´s old Federal Highway that becomes Avenida Emiliano Zapata leading to downtown, Villa El Nido is located within walking distance to the oldest and most prestigious Spanish Language schools, banks, ATM´s, video stores, internet cafes, bakeries, shops, restaurants, and convenience stores. The neighborhood is residential with many large estates and boasts a beautiful view of Cuernavaca which is why it is called Bellavista. The center of town is 5-8 minutes by car or taxi, 10 minutes by public transport.

In front of the villas the Botticelli Art School from Florence, Italy gives classes in restoration, Medieval painting and fresco techniques, trompe l¨oeil and art history housed in a beautiful estate. On the corner there is a new park built within another large estate that has paths, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, and classes of yoga, tai chi, aerobics, martial arts and programs for different age groups. For ten days beginning with the last day of August, the Tlatenango Fair takes place on Avenida Zapata where they close this important street to celebrate a 293 year-old festival in front of one of the oldest churches in the Americas built by the Conquistador, Hernan Cortes in 1523. Day of the Dead celebrations that start on Halloween (All Souls Day) and end on November 3rd are famous in the nearby cementaries and this unique Mexican tradition with Pre-Conquest roots is spectacular. Since the City of Eternal Spring has average temperatures in the 70´s year-round, all outdoor activities including sports are enjoyed all year.

1/2 block from the villas is a radio taxi stand and taxis are readily available for around $3 USD and can be hired as drivers by the hour, day, or excursion. Private drivers are also available. Villa El Nido has a covered garage with additional off-street parking on the property. Public transport is always available on Avenida Zapata and costs around .50 cents.
