“Very close to alton Towers” Ideal location for alton Towers. Good size property. Kitchen nice and large. Family friendly accomodation. Good size garden and parking. Good communication and helpfulness from owners. Overall experience very good minor issue with showers {Used to power shower} and would have liked more towels. Nice touches with games etc and a welcome pack with local info. Village was a mile away and no pavements for us Townies need a car if you have children.

“A fabulous family holiday, great for all ages” A lovely cottage, within walking distance of alton Towers for 4 20+ year-olds. We had a lovely relaxing weekend while they were all out! Very comfortable, well-appointed and equipped. A great place to tour from (for us) and lovely local pubs serving great food and real ales.

“Excellant and comfortable break” Superb accomodation. Excellant location for alton Towers, walking distance and saved hassle of parking. Accomodation was very spacious and ample room for 8 adults and 2 children. Great having the 4 bathrooms. The scenery surrounding the cottage was breath taking and created a very relaxing atmosphere making us feel rested after out holiday. The living area was spacious and plenty room for all to sit comfortably.

The wow factor

Came over from Canada for a three week vacation.We spent 4 days at the old barn with my family there were 10 of us in the house the 5 bedrooms accomodated us just easily.The pics do not do this place justice It was homely and luxury all at the same time I would defiantly recommend the old barn to any one spending a vacation in the UK . … see more

Ideal home

Met by Sarah at the cottage she was lovely and very helpful. Cottage was lovely ideal for the 6 adults and 2 children who stayed. Lovely coal fire which in fact was so hot we had to let it go out. Anyone wanting to go to alton towers it was a 5 minute walk from the house so didn't need to queue for parking. Nice pubs near by but also had compact kitchen which was excellent for making meals as well . Whole family enjoyed stay and would definitely go back again . Gill Durham … see more

Perfect for a large group.

A lovely place to stay and just right for our large group. There was plenty of space including the outside patio area where we enjoyed a barbecue. We had reasonably good weather and enjoyed exploring the locality. The proximity to alton Towers was a bonus as it is within walking distance. The only complaints we had were just minor niggles as the bedside lamps (one in each room)were not working. We also found that the lighting at nigh-time in the living room was inadequate. The shower screen had been broken previously and needed replacing, the owner suggested we continue using the shower, however this led to constant water puddles on the floor and we had to buy microfibre cloths to place in the area. On the whole we all enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if we needed to cater for a large party. … see more
