Drummond Hill with its population of Capercaillie, Pine Martens, Red Squirrels, etc lies to the east. Looking west you see the Lawers range and rising behind the village the magnificent backdrop of the Glen Lyon Hills. This special location makes the village a paradise for climbers, walkers, golfers, and cyclists The Loch is ideal for all kinds of water sports. Slightly further to the North lies the famous House of Bruar and the town of Pitlochry and many other places of interest.
From April (2017) the first commercial boat to operate on Loch Tay since 1945 began excursions on this iconic tourist attraction. Loch Tay is the largest loch in Perthshire and one of the deepest in Scotland. For the first time in over 70 years, the new boat will allow visitors to discover and explore this magical stretch of Scottish water.
The main garden stretches in front of the house and is the ideal spot to enjoy a meal or drink in fine weather. The house has been designed to make the most of the views over Loch Tay to Ben Lawers and beyond, with French windows in the spacious lounge with a new wood-burning stove. The house benefits from full gas central heating. Also a delightful new sunroom and decking area. As well as a separate dining room and sitting room the spacious and well-equipped kitchen, including new Air Fryer, has a separate breakfast room and separate utility room with a washing machine etc. The bedrooms are spacious with two being en suite and a third family bedroom (a double bed and a single bed) with a dedicated bathroom. This holiday house is ideal for groups or families. In addition to that, there is a separate office/playroom with patio doors leading onto the new decking area. Alligan is equipped with excellent Wi-Fi and fast fibre optic Broadband, Sky tv (including Sky Sports) Chromecast and excellent mobile phone coverage.
Asda, Morrison's, and Tesco deliver to the area.
For little ones, there is a high chair, travel cot blackout blinds, toys, etc.
This is an area of Perthshire renowned for its landscapes and nearby Kenmore, Killin and Aberfeldy are delightful small towns with shops and restaurants, etc. There are numerous walks for all levels in the area and be sure to visit the replica Crannog center on Loch Tay and the new waterfront restaurant at Kenmore. If you are keen on walking, exploring, fishing golfing, or just simply relaxing then you are spoilt for choice. “Beautiful spot”
We loved our stay - the house is spacious with three large bedrooms, a big living room and incredible views of Loch Tay. It was well equipped for staying with a baby. The kitchen is also well equipped for staying with a large group and we enjoyed cooking there in the evening. Would love to come back again some time.
