Description

People who have visited our apartment are pleased with it's convenient location since it is close to Ferragudo square and to the beach. It is situated in the older part of the village, close to the quaint cobbled streets and the beautiful white church, a wonderfully peaceful location. It is a ground floor apartment, with street parking, close to the front door.

A three min. walk downhill takes you to Ferragudo square, with a wonderful variety of restaurants. The very beautiful 'Praia Grande' beach is a ten min. walk away. A water taxi, very reasonably priced, will take you from Ferragudo to the larger town of Portimao or on to the beautiful historic town of Silves, with it's grand castle.

The apartment has full air-conditioning and comprises of a main living room with seating for six people; the sofa is a drop-back sofa-bed, which will sleep two small adults. The Kitchen is equipped for cooking family meals and there is a Lidl supermarket only a 5min. drive away, with smaller food shops within a 5min. walk. There are two bedrooms; one double bedroom with an en-suite, one twin Bedroom and a common Bathroom. We provide all the bedding and towels.

Views at the rear of the apartment are towards the shared garden and pool. We have six loungers for the exclusive use of visitors to our apartment, for use in the garden, around the pool.

Ferragudo itself, still retains it's original fishing village charm, with one of the most picturesque harbours on the coast. The main beach is 'Praia Grande', very safe for swimming, with beautiful soft sand and a historic castle. This is a wonderful location for families, who could spent all day on this beach, using the cafes, playground and safe swimming.

There is often evening entertainment at Casa Grande, just off Ferragudo Square, including the traditional Fado and Brazilian music, with Portuguese tapas and local wines .

Eating wonderful Portuguese food, on the beach, while watching the sunset is one of the highlights of a stay in Ferragudo. We love our home, conveniently placed, in this quaint town and we hope that you will too.

We hope that we have all that you need for a comfortable stay; you will find in the kitchen we have built a new cupboard to house the iron, ironing board, drying racks, pegs and cleaning equipment. You will find a hairdryer in one of the bedroom draws.

Getting around

It is not necessary to have a car here because everything is close at hand. You can walk down to the main square in Ferragudo in 3 minutes but it may take you longer to walk back because it is uphill. There is a regular bus service to Carvoeiro and the water taxi to Portimao is very reasonable and great fun. The small local shops sell everything you need but if you prefer larger supermarkets, several can be found on the road to Portimao. Take a boat trip to the historic town of Silves for a great day out.

Please phone or email the Manager giving him your flight details so that he can arrange to be at the apartment, when you arrive, to give you the keys and answer any questions you may have.

“Perfect family friendly retreat!”

Thank you for letting us stay in your apartment. It was very clean, spacious, well equipped and in an excellent location. Short walk to beach and village centre, where we ate most evenings. Would highly recommend your apartment and hope we can visit again soon! Ferragudo is so good for families. Communication was excellent between you and your Portuguese letting manager. A wonderful time had by all....especially the 3 and 7 year old!

“A home away from home”

I stayed here 8-15 th may... beautiful apartment very clean, spacious and child friendly... minutes walking distance from restaurants, shops etc... I travel to the Algarve 2-3 times a year stating in the Hilton, four season etc but this apartment has it all. Will definitely stay again.
