Description from owner

Description

A pet friendly period cottage in the heart of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast. Albion Cottage is situated just outside the church gates in the center of the village on a very quiet lane. Perfect for summer breaks or winter escapes alike, this charming, elegant cottage is ideally located just 10 minuets from a glorious sandy beach. It is located adjacent to the owners' home in one of Norfolk's most picturesque coastal villages.

The cottage has two charming drawing rooms, one with a cosy log burner and the other features a handsome open fire. The decoration throughout is heaven with its William Morris wallpapers and coverings and fine pieces of furniture.

The cottage sleeps 3 adults and a baby/toddler or 2 adults with 2 children and a baby/toddler or 4 adults (2 adults in the double bedroom, 1 adult in the single bedroom and 1 adult in a bed settee in the living room). We welcome pets - up to 2 large dogs, 3 medium or small dogs, 2 cats and any pet in a cage - and charge £25 per dog or cat per visit

The village itself is now famous for the oldest evidence of human activity outside of Africa with footprints discovered on the beach to be over 900 thousand years old.

The cosy local pub, within 50 meters of the cottage, echoes the local connection with 'Sherlock Holmes' author Arthur Conan Doyle who visited many times and wrote one of his books here.

If Albion Cottage is full you could try The Gig House next door. If you have a larger party this property can be booked in conjunction with The Gig House at a special rate (also on Holiday Lettings)

“Albion Cottage Happisburgh Wow Awesome”

Reviewed 29 May 2023

We had a week, with our little dog. Words can not express how much we enjoyed our stay. Didn't want to leave, well recommended. Great little hid away, unspoiled quiet village. Pub, village shop and beach all within 5mins walk. What more could you ask for. Cromer and Great Yarmouth with 30mins drive. Cottage well-equipped, everything you need. Beautiful small cottage garden with an array of flowers. Which gets the sun, with a view of the church steeple. Highly recommended, especially if you want quiet and relaxing holiday.

Response from the owner I would like to clarify a few points for future guests: The garden is grown organically and for wildlife as much as our guests, all the flowers heads are left on as long as possible to provide food and many people have loved the fact that as you come up the front path and brush past the lavender the air is filled with scent. There are two side lights as well as an overhead light in the living room, the dining room and the bedroom. The furniture is mostly antique and the clocks are clockwork so tend to not tell the right time! None of the furniture is broken. The bed is quite firm with a memory foam topper - we have had some guests reporting that they have had the best nights sleep ever! There is an extractor fan in the bathroom and if you wish to turn it off during the night there is a switch just outside the bathroom door.
