Description

You can escape to this prefect hideaway at our River Bend vacation cabin. Just renovated with updated decor throughout, this Cabin has a fresh new look. It has a full kitchen that opens into a cozy living room with cathedral, vaulted ceiling. With knotty pine walls throughout, it adds to the cabin atmosphere. For the young at heart, climb the ladder to a loft where you will find 2 built in twin beds, with a mini lounge area! Or enjoy one of the 2 bedrooms on the main floor. First bedroom has a queen bed, and the other bedroom has 2 floating beds. One full and one twin that is higher up on the wall.

Location, location, location! River Bend Cabin is centrally located on the heart of the "inland waterways" with 35' of frontage steps from the Sturgeon River. It is close to downtown Indian River, seconds away many attractions. You can pick between going to Burt Lake or Mullett Lake for the day, riding down the Sturgeon, or hitting a round of golf. You could even hike or rent an ATV/OTV to ride down the miles of trails. Or so much more!

In walking distance from the cabin you will find Big Bear Adventures to rent all your river rafting supplies (Tubes, Kayaks, or Rafts). Also, for a quick meal or your favorite thirst quenching drink, find McDonald's, Burger King, Subway, a smoke house BBQ/ Bar restaurant with karaoke, Wilson's Rivers Edge Restaurant, or a great fish smokehouse. If you have the desire, go to Ken's grocery to make your favorite home-cooked meal. You have everything you need just steps from your cabin door, but when you're at the cabin it has a perfect relaxing setting.

The Sturgeon River is the fastest river in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with an average descent of almost 14 feet per mile. The average depth is 3-4 feet. However, there are deeper pools that can reach 5-8 feet in depth, usually around the outside of the bends. The temperature is a refreshing 42 to 52 degrees.

Families have enjoyed canoeing, rafting, kayaking and tubing the Sturgeon River for years. Currents vary enough to please everyone: smooth and slow sections for a relaxing ride and swift meandering sections for a bit more challenge.

After a long day on the water or hiking through the woods, relax and watch a movie on the flat screen TV with a DVD player and a variety of movies for all ages. High speed wireless Internet is also available free of charge so you can check your email, surf the web, or take care of business while you are away from home. Enjoy plenty of games in the chest under the hanging twin bed, ideal for a family time, a quaint romantic getaway, or a group for rafting down the river.

Please note that this is a non-smoking cabin and absolutely no pets allowed.

Nice cabin - park within walking distance. You can tube the river behind the house to the park and easily walk back! Easily sleeps 6 with 4 twin beds and one double.
