Description

Meia Praia (trans: Big Beach) is situated on the Algarve adjacent to Lagos, the old Moorish capital of the Western Algarve. With a collossal 4 mile beach, it is 3 minutes from bustling Lagos and all its shopping and restaurants. This is a large airy modern Morrocan themed, garden level apartment based in one of the Algarve's most relaxing family-oriented resorts. The apartment is 1500 square feet in size with three double bedrooms (master with double-bed and large en suite bathroom, and two twin bedrooms), a large living room with 3 piece suite and dining suite, fully equipped kitchen and main bathroom. There is a dedicated parking space in the underground carpark. The apartment has lots of terrace space (large living room/kitchen terrace plus separate terrace off each bedroom, all overlooking spectacular gardens). It contains all modern equipment and wifi. The grounds are extensive , beautiful and safe for kids (access is through locked gates). There are tennis courts, a kiddies playground, very large solar heated adult pool, kiddies pool and rambling garden walks. Destino, the on-site restaurant and bar is open all day during peak months and provides good family fare, drinks and wifi. The main beach is a 10 minute walk (one minute by car). Central Lagos, and supermarkets are a 3 minute drive away. 24 hour security too. Full linen is provided and additional linen and maid service can be arranged through our local maid. Prices negotiable for long stays.

My property manager Emma lives locally and will meet you with keys. She needs to know your flight details and asks that you call her as you leave the airport so she can be there waiting for you. If you need additional bed linen or towels (there are plenty provided but some people like more) she can provide them for a modest laundry charge. Emma is available to deal with any problems and if you have special requests, simply ask. If we can help we will try!

“Not quite what we had hoped for.”

A little disappointed to find the bar, restaurant had closed down for the end of season. We were under the impression that the site amenities would have been open during our stay. Fortunately we had hired a car so we were able to get out and about at nights. The apartment was OK but the location of it meant no sun at all and it always felt cold. However there was heating provided the villa is in need need of some tlc.

“Excellent!”

A very nice apartment in an attractive development. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Just metres from the pool, which has a bar and basic food options. Dermot was helpful and friendly. Short drive to the beach, 20m walk if you work out the shortcut. To be recommended for a relaxing stay.

Response from the owner Jonathan, thank you for the review. You are correct there was a musty smell which came from a problem with the fridge. It is now sorted but as you did not bring the matter to our attention until hours before departure, we could not deal with it until you left. It is a shame you did not raise this when we could have dealt with it. There was a loose toilet seat which needs replacing as the fittings were damaged. As it was hard to find a replacement that fits, it is only fixed now and I appreciate you would have preferred it fixed immediately so I am sorry about that.
