Description

The cottage has 3 spacious bedrooms with beautiful views and a modern bathroom (complete with over bath shower) upstairs.

Downstairs, the kitchen has been recently opened up giving a practical and warm kitchen/diner. Also there is a large lounge with 2 separate seating areas and a log burning stove. A starter basket of logs for the fires is included in the holiday rental from Oct to the end of March.

The spacious lounge is complete with 2 large sofas and a cosy woodburning stove, just perfect for curling up in front of. It is also furnished with a large flat screen smart TV.

The welcoming kitchen/diner is equipped with a gas hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The dining area has a second woodburning stove which gives a gorgeous glow to enhance meals.

The bathroom is styled to give the period feel you expect from a country cottage break while providing the practical, modern conveniences required with today's lifestyle.

Getting around

A car is essential for day to day living at the cottage but there are plenty of gorgeous walks on the doorstep and the Devonshire pub can be walked to in around 15mins.

Interaction with guest

As I live next door to the cottage I am available should you need me pretty much all the time. I aim to greet everyone on arrival but should that not be possible then I ensure the key is left in a key safe for you to access the cottage and settle in. I make sure you've all settled in then leave you to enjoy your stay.

House rules

Often my guests are visiting family in the area, I am happy for friends and family to visit you at the cottage though would ask that you respect our neighbours when enjoying your time together. Please however do advise me of any visitors you expect and understand that overnight guests are not welcome without prior arrangement.

“Christmas at Hodgehay Cottgae”

We had a lovely time, every facility we needed was provided, beds were comfy, Morag had decorated the cottage for Christmas. It was a real home from home. Plenty of off road parking space, even an electric charging point. We would certainly recommend staying here. Morag provides games etc for children as well as equipment every possible need is there

“Lovely comfortable cottage”

The cottage is light airy and nicely decorated. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay. It’s central to visit Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar and Bath. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage and location.

Response from the owner Good morning John, l have now added the grid reference coordinates to my directions document. I'm hoping this will prove useful in pin pointing the cottage for guests using Sat Nav. The cottage takes its name from the adjoining farm which explains several properties with similar names surrounding the farmland. I'm sorry you had difficulty in the driveway, it's wider than many in the area and I'm sure in another car you were more familiar with it would not have been troublesome. Drivers familiar with these local roads have no difficulty gaining access. I point to the wood delivery chap who uses a crane to unload a pallet of wood by the garage door. I will agree that at times drivers can seem impatient while you are safely reversing into the driveway. Many thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review of our cottage I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes.

How do damage deposits work?
