“A compact hut”

The hut was very clean. It had the items we needed for a comfortable stay. The complementary tea/coffee, biscuit and a pint of milk was a welcoming sight. The location was very quiet and peaceful. Rit… More

Response from the owner Thanks for your positive comments. Regarding the electric meter it clearly states in the description of the accommodation that electric is by way of £1/£2 coin meter. The storm I'm afraid was out of my control.

“Perfect !!!”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2019

What a lovely place to stay. Everything we needed for the short break we had here was provided right down to all the information and leaflets about places to visit. The lodge is so enchanting and quirky and the perfect size for the 2 of us. Rita the owner is a lovely lady and was there to greet us and show us the ins and outs of the lodge and told us if there was anything she could help us with she was only down the path at her home and to call anytime. Would certainly recommend these lodges to anyone who wants to get away from it all yet still be close to Cardiff and surrounding places. Thank you again Rita for our lovely stay in your lodge x

“Cardiff Break”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2019

Thank you Rita for a lovely few days away in your cabin. Immaculate and kitted out with everything you need. The price was really good and it's great to see letters making it affordable for people to take a short break on odd days if available instead of being ripped off or letters leaving the property left vacant, We left late on Friday to avoid the traffic so didn't get to say Thank you. Enjoyd our visit to Cardiff and will certainly be coming back as we ran out of time after emptying the clothes shops !! Recommend anyone to stay here lovely and cosy Thanks Again P Webb

Response from the owner Dean - regarding internet and wifi, I'm afraid this is somewhat out of my control. 'Open Reach' Engineers called the other day to survey the area for fibre broadband and wifi facilities. Relevant cables were actually laid in the road about 2 years ago. Said they only had to connect to the roadside and follow the telephone poles down - so fingers crossed we should be up and running shortly. Modern inventions, even in 2018 are not always that simple when it comes to living in a rural location. Don't understand problem with shower - no previous complaints, but will look into it. As far as the electric meter is concerned, other than making a note of the meter reading on your arrival as well as on your departure and calculating the amount of electric used, this is the only way other than to increase prices to take electricity into account which in reality is somewhat of a guessing game!!. At least by utilizing the electric meter you only end up paying for the actual electricity you consume which I think is fair. Anyway, glad your stay lovely and quiet.

“Casteleau Road, Llantrisant, self catering accommodation, manager: Rita Maynard”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2017

We just arrived back from this wonderful short break. The holiday was such a lovely experience as well as a well deserved break. Staying with Rita in her lodges made the holiday even more special. The farm the lodges are on is beautiful and waking up to the cows in the morning and the pony next to our lodge as well as the wonderful sound of the peaceful Welsh country side was great. Even though the weather was not great there is so much to do in the surrounding area that it didn't stop us having a fun packed holiday. Even falling asleep to the hypnotic sound of the rain falling on our little lodge at night was lovely. Her accommodation is so cosy, clean and quirky and I loved every last minute of staying there. Rita herself is also so kind and helpful and it felt comforting to know should I have had any problems, which we didn't I know she would have been on hand to help resolve them. Best bit of the holiday was my 10 year old daughter waking up in the morning and putting her wellies on and walking to the farmers house next door to collect some eggs for us and then having fresh scrambled eggs every morning. Will definitely be looking to re book here. Thank you Rita. From Laura and Eva
