Description

The log cabin is located in the grounds of Mansewood Country House which situated at the top of Loch Earn at Lochearnhead in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park on the border of Perthshire and Stirlingshire. Ideally placed at the start of the Scottish Highlands where you can enjoy dramatic scenery, castles, walking, golf, fishing, whisky distilleries, history and heritage, lochs and gardens, shopping or just generally relaxing. It is adjacent to the Sustrans number 7 cycling route stretching from the bottom of Loch Lomond through Callander, Balquhidder, Strathyre, Killin, Kenmore, Aberfeldy to Pitlochry. Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Oban, Stirling, Fort William, Glencoe are all around within 90 minutes drive. The cabin has 2 bedrooms both with standard double beds. It is spacious with separate kitchen, Living/dining area, shower room. It is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, cutlery etc. All bedding and towels are provided, and wifi is available throughout the cabin. The kitchen will have basic supplies such as salt, pepper, sugar and oil. Please be aware that the electricity runs through a coin operated meter, which requires £1 coins. Useage in the Summer months is estimated at £2-£3 a day at most, but will be more if heating is switched on.

Getting around

Apart from cycling and walking, there is a bus service from Killin to Callander which stops in the village every two hours, otherwise, a car is essential.

The cabin is self contained, but if there are any requirements or additional requests, we will do our best to accommodate them. There is plenty of parking, and secure parking for motorbikes, and storage for bikes and watersports equipment if needed.
