Description

La Cistude is part of the 'Le Cormier' holiday facility which is close to the popular medieval town of Loches and is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Obterre (has a bar and small shop) on the northern tip of the beautiful 'Brenne Parc Naturel Regional', known as the “Land of a Thousand Lakes” - the whole area is quite simply a wildlife and bird-watchers paradise in this relatively unspoilt area of the Berry / South Touraine area of the Loire Valley.

It is very easy to relax in this tranquil and peaceful setting, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and trees but with many local attractions to keep you occupied. We are ideally located for the famous chateaux of the Loire, vineyards (closest 9km), churches, museums, Futuroscope and, of course, surrounded by sleepy medieval towns. The rolling landscape makes it an ideal locality for cycling and walking enthusiasts alike.

PLEASE NOTE: New for 2021...Increasing discounts apply against the normal daily rates that are quoted - 4 nights 7.5% ; 5 nights 10% ; 6 nights 15% with weekly stays of 7 nights already having 20% discount applied. Ask us for a quote & now there is flexible changeover day throughout the year.

We welcome children although would point out there are limited on-site facilities to keep them fully occupied.

The 5m above ground splash pool is shared with all visitors, including some of our small 12 pitch campsite visitors as well.

La Cistude studio has a comfortable living space comprising main living and dining area, with adjoining kitchenette, and separate toilet / shower room with wash-hand basin & electric heated towel rail. There are 2 bedrooms, the main sleeping area adjoining the living room and a second box-room bedroom.

The kitchenette is equipped with combined sink, drainer and double electric hob, also having a worktop area and cupboard space and wall shelving units for storage, a small electric oven, microwave, refrigerator, electric kettle, cups, saucers, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans along with coffee maker and toaster.

The dining table has 4 chairs (more are available if needed), and there is a settee and a coffee table. Additional lounge chairs are available.

Electric convector heaters provide warmth for the living area and bedrooms in case of chilly nights and the studio is equipped with TV (UK Terrestrial Channels), DVD player and Radio/CD player.

There is a double bed in the main bedroom and a bunk bed in the small box-room type bedroom. There are a variety of permutations with the availability of a bed-settee or collapsible Z Beds (either single or double).

Small bedside cabinets, table lamps, chest of drawers and an integrated wardrobe and storage cupboard.

Visitors receive a welcome pack containing local information, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, washing up liquid etc. (plus a bottle of wine when staying 7 nights or more).

Towels, tea towels and toilet rolls provided free of charge. Change of bedding after one week

“Excellent stay in a friendly atmosphere”

We stayed here in the La Cistude chalet for a week on our annual wine trip to France. In the past we have camped, this was our first time staying in accommodation and we were pleased we did. The chalet was comfortable and spacious (easily accommodated three adults, two of whom have never missed a meal...) with a TV and cooking facilities, including an oven. Mike and Cath, the proprietors, are very friendly and accommodating hosts who were more than happy to keep the pool open longer and make the table tennis table available as well as advising on points of interest in the locale (we particularly enjoyed the zoo). There is also patio furniture outside each chalet and use of BBQ's (most welcome during our stay). The local area is very tranquil and picturesque and an ideal place to relax. There were quite a few people on bikes also staying at the site during our stay and its easy to understand why. We were made to feel very welcome and consequently thoroughly enjoyed our stay, in no small part because of Mike and Cath. If you are looking to stay in the area, look no further.

“A wonderful holiday in a beautiful location”

We visited the area to go to a friends wedding in Loches and are so glad we chose to stay here. The place is beautiful, wonderfully tranquil and surrounded by some very amazing countryside. The chalet has literally everything you might need and Mike and Cathy were incredibly helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much for them and they were able to recommend some great places to visit. Our best days were spent exploring the local areas on bikes hired from the tourist offices of the local villages.
