Description

Beautiful 'Rose-Dene is a two bedroom bungalow (sleeps 6 plus cot for baby)in a residential area of Sheppey and has ample parking space at the front with easy access from the road which can be busy at peak periods. At the back of the bungalow you will find a beautiful and extensive garden where you can relax or enjoy a game of table tennis, bar- b- q and in the summer a cream tea. The property has full gas central heating, hair drier, milk, tea, coffee, breakfast cereals; linen and towels included in tariff. The bungalow is 3 km from the sea and walks beside the cliffs can be enjoyed throughout the year. The Halfway area within easy walking distance (half km) from the bungalow has a variety of restaurants for all tastes; a very popular Chinese Restaurant; two Indian Restaurants; good pub cuisine; pizza delivery and a variety of 'take aways' . A well established Micro Pub with delicious ales and ciders and some entertainment is a good place to spend time before or after dining. Half a mile in the opposite direction you will find a traditional pub with food.

Local attractions include walks, beach activities and windsurfing at various beaches; sea and freshwater fishing; R.S.P.B. Bird Sanctuary at Elmley; Muswell Manor, Eastchurch, home of early aviation; Bluetown Heritage Centre; Minster Abbey and Gatehouse Museum; Swimming pool and Leisure Centre; Amusement Arcades; Golf; Archery, Shopping.

The bungalow is 1.5 km from the railway station making Canterbury and London and many tourist attractions available without the use of a car. If you do have a car the drives around the Kent countryside are beautiful (keep an eye on the website for coach trips).

Only 50 minutes from the Channel Tunnel and Dover this is a very good option for those who want to "SEE IT ALL" BY CAR!

The nearby attractions include the Detling Showground 20-30 mins; Leeds castle - 30 mins; Canterbury and Cathedral - 40 mins; Dover and castle - 50 mins; London - 1 hour and 20 mins by train and 1 hour 30 mins approx. by car; Howletts Zoo Park - 40 mins; Wingham Wildlife Park - 40 mins; Rochester (Dickens) - 35 mins; Bluewater regional shopping centre - 40 mins.

And then relax comfortably at the end of a busy day.

“Charming house – friendly landlord”

We enjoyed our 3-day stay at this cosy house with a beautiful garden and well equipped kitchen. Especially we appreciated the big folders filled with comprehensive information material about the Isle of Sheppey and Kent. Furthermore, Neil (the owner) was extremely helpful when we had specific questions. We would have liked to stay longer!
