Description

Located within a 10 minute walk to the resort centre (where all the amenities can be found such as the bars, restaurants, supermarket, pro shop, shuttle bus and children's play areas) This apartment is beautifully furnished and well equipped providing all the home comforts you would expect at such a quality resort, it is very much our second home, free WIFI now too. The terrace is fully enclosed and offers dining for 6. Please note the terrace has now been fully extended so tiles go out to the grass - adding further seating and dining opportunities and the dining table is now square with 6 chairs to accompany it. The beds are comfortable, with good quality linen (extra sets in the bedding box should you wish to change your own whilst there) and the kitchen is well equipped to make your stay as relaxing as possible, the lounge provides a relaxing environment where you can watch TV and DVD's - the apartment now has free WIFI so you can easily add it to your phone or laptop settings, it will easily extend to the patio and pool area. The Italian made sofa bed provides extra sleeping accommodation for 2 adults plus there is a full size travel cot and high chair for the little ones should you require. We've provided 2 sets of golf clubs too!!! which obviously saves on the ridiculous added cost to bring yours over. For your sunbathing needs we have two great sun loungers with deep padded cushions for your full length, these are more than welcomed around the pool side, we also have a matching small table and parasol for use around the pool or on the patio and we have 4 fold away sun loungers for the pool or beach use. On the patio there is a large rectangle tasteful storage unit and in there is a vast array of buckets, spades, games, toys, inflatables for all our guests enjoyement.

The largest outdoor play area, featuring a great park for both small and large children is a 5 min walk away as is the resort centre which features, 3 bars, (Dovecoat, main restaurant and pizza bar), 2 restaurants, main with Al la Carte, bar menu and pizzeria (get the calzone it's out of this world!) the golf shop where you can book any of the golf resorts in the area, supermarket - extensively stocked and very reasonably priced and the driving range. Note the main bar features some form of entertainment every evening, during last year's warm weather season, a children's entertainer featured every wednesday 7-8.30 which was excellent, thursday featured a quiz and then live music/bands played on other evenings. The dovecoat bar also ran a variety of entertainment sessions from outdoor salsa lessons to live music, has a happy hour each week and has a fantastic and extensive cocktail list which has to be sampled. All the staff at the eateries are an absolute credit to the Hacienda and really do go out of there way to make your stay and expereince special.

There are outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor gym, a paddleball court, petanque pitch and foorball pitches to the right of the apartment - about a 10 min walk. There is also a great footpath that goes all the round the resort (about 3.5 miles) and is great for an evening stroll whilst the sun sets or taking a bike and riding round or for the fit folk a good power walk or jog.

Hacienda Riquelme is the fourth Polaris resort to be completed and forms part of the much acclaimed Nicklaus Golf trail. Guests at the apartment enjoy discounted green fees, and the Hacienda resort offers a very open environment where you can enjoy great golf, food and climate. Most visitors, including my golf mad husband, agree that the Hacienda course is the best of all the Polaris resorts so far. The resort is also very well set up with numerous other play areas and equipment to amuse the children on walks around the course or resort - not just the play area 5 mins walk away from our apartment.

For non golfers, there are a wide range of activities available. The calm warm waters of the Mar Menor and its beautiful beaches are the perfect place to find safe swimming, water sports and diving. As the Mar Menor is a secluded bay the warm water is particularly suitable for young children, some of the beaches further North on the mediterranean coast have more waves but are still a safe height for the little ones.The ancient city of Murcia to the North and Cartagena to the South and the surrounding areas are a must for those wishing to explore historical buildings and architecture of this region.

The Sierra Espuña contains Murcia's largest extensions of forest, as well as being one of its most exemplary areas of outstanding natural beauty. There is plenty here for the nature lover, cyclist or walker. Many guests who have used our apartment (we've been renting it our now to family and friends for some time and many people have returned to enjoy it time and time again) have all filled in various pages of the comprehensive welcome pack which is left in the apartment for you to enjoy and added lots of sightseeing, both historical, pleasureable and things to do within the surrounding areas. So please take a look and add to it any great places you visit whilst here.

This apartment most definately caters for every single age group and the resort and surrounding area caters for all needs. People do love it here, it is rural Spain but with class, great eating/dining experiences to be had, fantastic beaches and other resorts to explore and lovely relaxed families/couples like us and you wanting a great holiday expereince. We do suggest a car to get around and off resort, though that isn't really a necessity as Sucina the nearest town has a variety of eating ad drinking establishements and is a 30 min walk from the resort on a very safe road - lots of people walk it anyway and if you do require it we can organise transport to and from the airport and this contact also does other short excursions when requested to do so, friends of ours used this last year to get from the airport and visit the Water Park in Murica - great service.

Changeover day - any day available that suits you and booking flights.

Changeover days are flexible dependant upon availability. The apartment is available from 4pm on arrival, unless otherwise arranged, and should be vacated by 10am on day of departure - unless otherwise arranged. Our fantastic key holders Jayne & Melvin are wonderful at arranging themselves around the apartment when people book with night flights, the only time we cannot make this happen if someone else is following another guest on the same day, do always ask when booking then everyones needs can be accomodated. I really want people to come have an amazing time then we see them again.

As we have had the apartment now 6 years and come here at least 4 times in the year, we have built up a wealth of contacts and things to do - so should you wish to hire a boat (with or without skipper) to go out on day trips, visit other islands, been driven around, taxied to a particular restaurant for a night out so you don't have to drive, do ask me or take a look at our great welcome pack in the apartment where all this information can be found and is extremely reasonably priced.

This apartment has been furnished to a high standard but with practical wipeable leather furniture to keep your stress levels down!! and offers comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. The bedrooms can either provide twin singles in each room or doubles. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes and there is plenty of storage here and under the bed. Free WIFI is available for both your iphone, Ipad or laptops, just log in and use.
The terrace offers dining for 6 (great rectange glass table with 6 very comfy chairs, plus a rattan couch with two matching tub chairs to further relax) as well as sun beds and 2 parasols you can take down to the pool. The terrace is covered and provides a sunny place to breakfast and then relax and dine in the afternoon until sunset.

There is secure underground parking and a lift to all floors which is directly next to the apartment.

Inside the apartment you'll find a useful information pack that offers information and advice about where to shop, eat, visit, how to find the best beaches etc. (This can also be sent by email upon request)
Our apartment is particularly well catered for children with a significant variety of boys and girl's toys as we have a 7 year old boy and 2 and half year old little boy and various friends children have stayed in the apartment. Our youngest has been coming since he was 2 months old so we really do have everything to cater for a baby and upwards. Essentials range from step stool for brushing teeth, waterproof mattress covers to car seats and travel cot and high chair. The kitchen is also well equipped with children suitable plates, cups and cutlery and most importantly the terrace, which has since been extended so offers even more outdoor space, is on the ground floor and as such it is ideal for children..

The pool is also the largest on site and keeps the sun in the high season until later in the day when it is cooler.

A large South West facing patio with sun from mid morning onwards, so great for breakfast. Large communal pool 10 metres in front of apartment. Barbecue, Hot plate, Rattan furniture set (2 armchairs, sofa and table). A selection of sun loungers and sun chairs - these can be easily taken to the pool or beach. Large parasols and a selection of children's pool/beach toys. There is also a child's UV tent which guests are welcome to use. Two inflatable boats, lilo's, and we have 2 sets of golf clubs in the apartment that guests are welcome to use. We've also a large selection of books to read that we have taken and other guests have left - so lots of reading material to relax.

The nearest Airport is Murcia (San Javier) which is approximately 20 minutes drive. Once you've booked with us, we will send you detailed directions on how to get to our apartment. Flights to Murcia (San Javier) airport fly from the following locations: BMI baby: Birmingham, Cardiff Easy jet: Bristol, Gatwick, Newcastle Ryan Air: Birmingham, Bournemouth, Dublin, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds/Bradford, Liverpool, Luton, Stansted, Shannon. Jet 2: Belfast, Blackpool, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle. Monarch: Birmingham, Gatwick, Manchester. You can also get flights to Alicante airport which is approximately 50 minutes drive away. Easy Jet: Liverpool, Luton, Stanstead.

Interaction with guest

The key holders Mel and Jayne Cowley are in the local village and are available to be contacted in an emergency. I am also available to be contacted via text or email during you stay in the summer and can also advise re emergency contacts should keys be lost etc. One of the best sources of information on the resort is the security gatehouse - the guys there speak great English and pretty much assist you with anything required. They also have a maintenance man on site who can be called if required too. Other emergency contact details ie: Air conditioning, heating/boiler, hot water etc can be located in the cupboard where the boiler is house. Mike has a great reputation for appearing within hours of being called.

“Fabulous Apartment”

Booked 6 nights at the end of May and was delighted. Easy 30 minute drive from the new Murcia Airport, called at the supermarket on site to pick up essentials. Supermarket was well stocked, fresh baked bread throughout the day and nothing overpriced. The Apartment was easy to find and WONDERFUL. Beautifully clean and well equipped, it had everything we needed. The outdoor area was particularly lovely, with both dining and lounge furniture and a selection on sunbeds, backing onto the beautifully tended gardens. Very large pool only steps away, so easy to carry the sunbeds to poolside. Really lovely atmosphere, the resort felt spacious and not crowded, even though it was the Spring School holidays. Will certainly be back, thank you.

stayed here 2 weeks in June with husband, 7 year old & 3 year old. Apartment great had everything we needed and more. Loved the whole chilled out atmosphere, space around us and the huge pool. Everyone really friendly & going up to the bars & restaurant on an evening was lovely', As was going into Sucina (nearest village with an array of bars & restaurants). Unless you just want to stay on resort a car is recommended, very easy to drive over there and you need to visit the fantastic beaches on offer. Booking to go back again this year for sure.

“Excellent... everything you could need ... home from home !”

Stayed here with my husband and 2 teenage daughters, ideal location on the resort, immediate access to the gorgeous pool... The apartment is furnished with no detail left out to suit our needs as well as thouse who travel with younger children. The place itself is spotless and its surroundings are beautiful.. I, myself am not into golf but those who are its fantastic !.. The main house and its grounds offer entertainment most nights of the week but for a change we definately recommend sucina a couple of miles down the road... various bars and eateries at reasonable prices.
