Description

South Beach is the location of the top ranked attraction on the Oregon Coast, the Oregon Coast Aquarium. It is also the headquarters of Rogue Brewery and the Wine and Seafood Festival.

It is an easy walk from Yaquina Bay Club the aquarium, Rogue Brewery, the Hatfield Marine Center and the public fishing pier.

Also within immediate walking distance are the jetty, the beach, South Beach State Park (the largest park of its kind in Oregon) and miles and miles of equestrian and hiking trails.

A short drive over the historic Yaquina Bay Bridge is the hip Nye Beach neighborhood. For over 100 years, people from Portland and the Willamette Valley have been coming to Nye Beach in search of solace from the Pacific Ocean.

In times past, cottages were built where women and children would spend their summers while the men of their families joined them for the weekend excursions in the beautiful Nye Creek area. In 1891, a boardwalk was built connecting the Nye Creek to the Newport Bayfront.

The Bayfront, home to the colorful Newport fishing fleet, also boasts many fine restaurants, our beloved resident Sea Lions, shopping and attractions. It is also a working sea port.
