Description

Beautiful luxury cottage in a spectacular location close to the Obidos lagoon, set in a typical Portuguese village with scenic views of fruit orchards and panoramic views of the medieval castle of Obidos. The village is set in a peaceful location and an ideal base for either relaxing or exploring this magnificent region. However due to covid I have been unable to visit the cottage for over 18 months and I appreciate things change, whether it be due to the effects of covid or the growth and development of the village. I am therefore putting this sentence in as a note to advise in the current day I can only describe it as it was 18 months ago. There is a local mini mart with cafe/ bar which serves traditional food 200m away.

Cottage has a free Vodafone roaming Wi-Fi and 55 inch smart TV which will be available to guests, a car would be essential if wanting to visit any of the 3 remarkable golf courses that are only 10 minutes by car. There are Praia d'al Rey, Royal Obidos and Bom Successo as well as the newly built West Cliff golf course which is affiliated with Praia d'al Rey,all within a short distance of each other and have fantastic but different courses to play.

The cottage is probably not suitable for small children who are crawling due to steps upstairs to bedrooms and kitchen. Parking could be a small issue you can park on the road at the entrance to the village th cottage is a short walk. Or you could drive through the one way and approach the cottage from the front where there is a ramp suitable for a medium car directly outside the double wooden gates of the cottage.

Getting around

A car is recommended but the bus system is excellent and efficient as well as in expensive. There is also a good railway system stations in Obidos and caldas. Walking is safe and picturesque and there are many local bars and cafe/restaurants near by.
