Description

Palacio de Juliette is a beautiful first floor period townhouse/apartment in the heart of the Moorish old town in Olhao. There are three double bedrooms (two king size beds and one double bed) and one single room, a large well equipped, modern kitchen with table and chairs. The house has two modern bathrooms, one with bath/shower and one with shower cubicle. There is a patio with table and chairs off the kitchen with stairs leading to a large roof terrace with traditional Santa Catarina tiles and a timber decked area with a pergola for shade. It has great views of the lagoon, the islands and the Moorish old town. It's perfect for sunbathing or enjoying a cold drink in the evening whilst watching the breath taking sunsets and the early evening bird activity overhead.

There's also a lovely dining/living room with table and chairs to seat six to eight and a sofa.

The house is newly renovated but retains lots of period features such as the stunning stucco decorated entrance hall, ornate high wooden ceilings, wooden floors and beautiful stained glass doors.

The Neighbourhood:

Olhao is a quirky vibrant fishing town in the Ria Formosa region of the Eastern Algarve, which enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine a year.

The house is in the heart of Olhao's Moorish influenced historic centre and is a few minute's walk from the waterfront, the amazing fish and vegetable markets, countless bars (all with free wifi), restaurants and shops. The ferry port for boats to the nearby islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol with their beautiful long sandy beaches is 8 minute's walk from the house.

It is a 4 minute walk to shops, bars, restaurants and ferry port, and Faro airport is a 20 minute drive away.

Other Things to Note:

Stairs to the roof terrace may not be suitable for small children or people with mobility issues, there are railings fitted all around the roof terrace. There is a flight of 20 steps into the apartment from it's front door on street level. There is a child gate to put at the top of the stairs inside for safety. Parking is widely available on the nearby streets.

“Lovely stay”

A very nice house located in a friendly part of Olhao. Very Portuguese. Lots of eateries and beautiful scenery. Very close to Tavira and Faro via train - cheap too. A very peaceful visit. Would come again.
