Description
Beautiful stone and chestnut beamed, four storey home in picturesque mountain village.
Dating from 1600's, this tuscan village house has been carefully restored by architect David Cullinan and wife Silvia which are also the hosts.
You will be welcomed with a bottle of wine and our fresh produce. All the basics are provided salt, sugar, coffee, washing up liquid etc.
We are available.
From Pietrabuona Castello you can reach by a walking path the town below , Pietrabuona ,where you can find great food at the local restaurant "Da Nerone", also a butcher, a delicatessen, a chemist and a local bar. With the car you can drive north to visit the other 10 villages that are part of the ten castle valley, or go further north to the ski resort, Abetone.
Driving 5 minutes south ,the first large town you find is Pescia, with a beautiful square, on the river where you can also find a large super market "Esselunga".
Don't miss the best ice cream at "La Baracchina" along the river.
Going towards Lucca you can visit the town of Collodi where the author of Pinocchio lived and also visit the Pinocchio's park and garden with a wonderful butterfly house.
Lucca is a wonderful city with lots of restaurants, local shops and walks around the 500 year old walls. The International "Lucca Comics and Games" festival is held at the end of october for four days and is a unique event.
