Villa Le Crete, beautiful villa lose in the winding hills of the Senese Crete.
Immersed between the winding hills of the Sienese Crete, rising between the oak tree woods and the branches of the olive trees lies the ancient cottage Villa Le Crete.
Situated on a naturally formed terrace of the Val d'Orcia, which formerly was the home of many peasants and their families, has become today a farm holiday residence of exceptional high quality.
It is not always easy to combine the comfort of a good hotel with the authentic simplicity of a country house and offer a "real" rural atmosphere.
However, Villa Le Crete today has managed to create this unique atmosphere without renouncing any comforts.
The achievement of this remarkable harmony is the main aim of the owner of the villa and his family, whose ancestors maintained the land of Val d'Orcia for centuries.
Living on "blood and tears" for many generations, the sharemen, colonised the land through the construction of farms. From each of the guests rooms provided by the family, one is able to enjoy the view of the impressive monuments of the Sienese Crete. White imposing round-topped clay pillars covered in white shells, fascinating residue from the primordial marine life, stand out against the sky.
Together with this sight, the villa offers the tranquility of a serene retreat in either the reading room or next to the burning fire.
On warmer days, a huge outdoor swimming pool enhances the splendid Tuscan welcome even further.
Villa Le Crete, once the residence of several peasants families, has now become a high level country villa.
To provide all the amenities we are accustomed and combine them with the authenticity of an old farmhouse is not always easy. The owners of the villa, has been living in this land over the last 50 years and they simply adore this countryside, therefore they decides to devote their whole life to farming and to the improvement of this area.
Villa Le Crete gives you the chance to relax just reading a good book in one of the living rooms or by the cosy fireplace. And in warmer days a huge open swimming pool is available for the guests.

The house has been totally restored and refurbished, but the original architecture has been fully respected and most of the building materials have been recovered from the earlier demolished farmhouse.
The result is simply gorgeous.
The owner's family, a large traditional family of the Val d'Orcia, lives and works on this land, welcomes the guests with simple Tuscan generosity.
Making it possible for the guests to participate in the running of the farm and sample the local health foods: such as the olive oil produced in the annexed olive-press of the farm, the wine which comes from the vineyards on the property, the products from the vegetable garden according to the seasons.
Living at Villa Le Crete makes one feel part of a traditional family of the Val d'Orcia, who has created an art from their relationship with the land.
The house has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The former barns have been turned into a large hall full of light, the old sheep cote is now a barbecue area, and the hayloft makes up a large bedroom. The lovely arcade outside the house has been equipped with a dining table and a wood-burning oven. If you step into the house you will see beautiful floors made of Tuscan "cotto" (raw terracotta tiles), whereas Tuscan oaks have been used for the raftered ceilings.
The house is full of arches, which create an open and dynamic space and make the cottage look bigger and brighter. In the living room there is a large stone fireplace spreading a warm and cosy atmosphere all around. Upstairs, there is a hall furnished with sofas whose old-rose hues brighten up the whole room.
The bedrooms are in perfect harmony with the general atmosphere of the house, as they also have raftered ceilings and cotto floors. The windows frame breathtaking views of the Tuscan countryside, and the light coming from the outside is magically reflected all over the rooms, enhanced as it is by the white walls.
The garden surrounding the villa confirms the farmhouse's unique atmosphere: it is an unblemished corner of the farm decorated with maple trees, strawberry trees, brooms, wild roses, lavender, sage and rosemary.
There's also a vegetable garden where herbs, artichockes, asparagus, tomatoes and salad are grown for guests. One can come here and pick up fresh veggies to prepare natural and tasty dishes....Read more
