Description

The Moorings is a large stylish, comfortable holiday cottage offering self catering accommodation for up to 12 people in 6 double bedrooms (3 double and 3 twin rooms) in the heart of Whitby, North Yorkshire. It's a spacious Georgian townhouse which provides attractive contemporary decor throughout, top quality Egyptian cotton bed linen, a modern, high gloss kitchen/diner with quartz worktops and oak table seating 12 people, 4 shower/bathrooms, groundfloor bamboo flooring and a limestone paved outdoor seating area as well as free wifi/internet access. The house is perfectly situated in a quiet location but it is only a few steps away from shops, restaurants and cafes and just a 5 minute walk to the beach and harbour. Two spacious reception rooms with lots of comfortable sofas and two large flatscreen TVs (including SkySports package via TalkTalk in main reception), DVD player and X Box allowing visitors of all ages to relax and enjoy themselves throughout their stay. With parking in the town centre often difficult the the property has the benefit of its own dedicated parking area with 3 spaces right opposite the house (and further on street parking permits available on request).

The Moorings is a great place to get together with family or friends for a seaside holiday, birthday celebration or reunion in the Whitby area and can also be used as a base for the fabulous coastal walks nearby or on the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

The house is not suitable for hen or stag groups. It is a non-smoking property. Changeover day for 7 night bookings is Friday. Short breaks of a minimum of 3 nights are available outside peak season and school holiday weeks.

Whitby is a coastal town in North Yorkshire. The popular seaside town of Scarborough is a 35 minute drive South via the A171. The historic town of York is a 48 mile drive away via the A169 and A64. The famous university town of Durham is 60 miles away via the A171 from Whitby and the A19. The town has a railway station which is situated 35 miles (56 km) south east of Middlesbrough railway station and is operated by Northern, which provides all of the station's National Rail passenger services which all call at stations enroute to Middlesbrough

“Ideal house for family get together”

We had a lovely holiday based at The Moorings, which is close to town and beach. The house is spacious and well equipped. We recommend Cranberry Swamp, just round the corner, for gluten free food

Where the house is situated means lots of great cafes/restaurants and pubs are almost on the doorstep though still in a quiet area. I do hope you'll visit us again.
