Logie Country House. Exclusive use Scottish Wedding Venue

1680 Scottish mansion set in 140 acre estate that dates back to 1492. The 15 bedroom house has been extensively restored and now provides extremely comfortable, relaxing accommodation in a beautiful, unique setting 15 miles west of Aberdeen on the banks of the river Urie.

The house has an indoor pool, gym, two hot tubs, a cinema, two kitchens and a private island. We also have a purpose built ballroom for functions and weddings for up to 160 day guests and a further 20 evening guests.

The house is primarily a wedding venue, but we do take rentals and other functions if we have availability.

Further details indoors

The house has 15 bedrooms and sleeps 44. There are two kitchens, two master rooms and several lounges. Please see our website for further details

Further details outdoors

Outside is an enclosed courtyard, surrounded by flowers, home to bees and swallows in the summer. The covered barbecue can be used all year round. Outside the courtyard, we are surrounded by a 140 acre estate, with fishing on the river Urie, a tranquil private island (frequented by otters and ideal for picnics), ancient woodlands to the west, pictish standing stones and miles of tracks and walks. There are numerous attractions nearby, including golf, shooting, fishing, falconry, go-carting, restaurants, horse riding, hill walking, rock climbing and distilleries. Slightly further afield, you will find beaches, deer stalking and skiing.

“Home from home”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2010

We had a lovely warm welcome and introductory tour around the house, which is comfortable and spacious. It really did have that "home from home" feel as Sara has ensured that the house is well equipped (e.g. an abundance of kitchen equipment, including day to day essentials such as salt, cooking oil etc. and thoughtful additions, such as clock radios in every bedroom). Everything was well maintained, of good quality and very clean. Whilst the overall setting was lovely and quiet, we experienced loud noise in the master bedroom each morning which was coming from the children in the owners house next door (this was the only negative we experienced and explains the loss of one star on the comfort rating of this review). We didn't want to mention this during the holiday, as it's important to remember that next door is the owners family home too, therefore a little noise is perhaps to be expected. The location is great as there's lots to do in the area, plus the guides provided in the house and the owners local knowledge provide lots of further inspiration if needed. We would thoroughly recommend Logie Country House and think it will be extra special when the pool etc. opens shortly.

“Beautiful Place To Stay”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2010

We would like to thank Tim & Sara for a lovely stay at Logie Country House. The accomodation is perfect for famlies or groups of friends with plenty of space and entertainment for everyone, the whole house was very clean and really comfortable, we loved the wood burner at night and the kids have been pleading for a wii since we got home!! The little touches make a big difference like getting chicken food for the kids ( to feed the chickens not themselves!! )or fishing rods when we found out the river was stocked with brown trout, and the owners make a big effort to ensure you have a comfortable & enjoyable stay without being intrusive. We can't wait to return when the pool will be finished next year.

“A truly wonderful place to stay!!!”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2010

We absolutely loved our stay at Logie Country House!!! A huge, extremely comfortable house, where every detail has been thoughtfully taken care of. Immaculate, pleasant, warm, comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen is superb! We loved that there were two places to "hang out" in the house, and even when the weather wasn't wonderful, and we stayed in all day -- we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I absolutely loved my bedroom and looked forward to curling up under the down comforter with my book each night. We would love to stay again!

“Great location and superior service!”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2010

After looking through the web for a holiday let suitable for myself and my business collegues travelling north I came accross Logie Country House and was sold from the moment I saw the pictures. The rooms were comfortable, spacious with tastefull decor.Although we did not make use of the kitchen it was well equiped and of considerable size. The large lounge area provided us with all the space we needed for our daily meetings and the grounds provided ample parking for us all.

“Decedent yet tranquil”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2010

Both myself and my partner found this the perfect location for getting away from the busy city for a quiet romantic weekend away, the accommodation is luxurious and the location is beautiful, we visited Fraser Castle which is one of many interesting and historic places to visit nearby and we had several lovely walks set in idyllic surroundings within the grounds. Highly recommended stay...
