Description
Horta da Avozinha (translated into) "Granny`s Garden" - sits in a lovely garden and orchard where you can pluck a fresh lemon straight off the tree for your gin and tonic! Families can also have the opportunity to feed the chickens and geese at liberty - this is something that can excite young children. In terms of accommodation, this styllish Villa has two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite and a second family bathroom. The living area too is spacious and extremely comfortable with a log wood fireplace for those cold chilly evenings all provided with compliments from the owners! There is also a modern well-equipped kitchen. Against a background of pale-washed walls and light-tiled floors, the accomodation offers good quality wooden furniture throughout with spashes of colour from tasteful fabrics and furnishings. Wide French windows in the large living - come - dining area lead straight onto a covered veranda with steps leading down to the swimming pool. Heating of the pool can also be done on request from the owners at a small additional fee. It could not possibly be anymore convenient; especially if you needed to keep an eye on young children.There are sun-beds too with parasols to lounge on including a dining table and chairs to facilitate true outdoor "al fresco" or "barbeque meals" by the pool where you also have the facility of your very own built-in outdoor oven! Take your pick! This is a true holiday experience you will never forget!

“Pure heaven!”
We arrived late at night, but were warmly greeted by the owners, a fab welcome hamper too which we weren't used to receiving, we have stayed in numerous villas and this has to be the best and most exceptionally clean we have ever stayed in. The beds were so comfy, everything we could possibly need was supplied. Our children were made so welcome, it was paradise for them with the playground and the chickens, geese (who were surprisingly friendly) and frogs in the pond. The pool was fantastic, heated and clean surrounded by beautiful garden of which the fruit trees gave off the most stunning scent. We are thrilled to have found such a gem which was safe, secure and really beautiful. We will definitely be returning. The local area was really beautiful too with supermarkets and very good places to eat close by..

“Private Oasis”
A lovely villa with our own heated pool and shared jacuzzi although we were the only ones who used it. There are two villas on the site but they are separate and whilst there are common areas you can maintain as much privacy as you need. Our dog loved it as he had lots of space to roam as the site is secure with big electric gates to provide access. The villa is well maintained and spacious, we were there for five weeks and were very reluctant to leave, we hope to go again! The owners Teresa and Jose are very helpful and encourage their guests to take fruit from the orchard on site - fresh orange juice every day. Highly recommended

“Ideal family accommodation”
I had a week here with my wife, three year old and six month old baby. The owners lived on-site and kindly stayed up to welcome us as we were arriving at 11pm. They also had a welcome pack of food and drink waiting for us, which was great! The villa had all of the facilities that we needed, including a cot, high chair etc, and was well furnished throughout. The pool was great and the addition of a play area plus chickens and geese kept our three year old occupied when she wasn't in the pool. You will definitely need a car and make sure that you have good directions to the villa, you'll need them. However, the trip into Praia da Luz is less than ten minutes should you need it, as is the journey to a large supermarket. The owners were on-site and were lovely - very helpful and understanding. I'd definitely go back!

“Fantastic Villa in peaceful location”
We could not have been happier with our stay at Avozinha. As a family of 5 we were looking for a peaceful holiday in the sun and that's exactly what we got! The Villa is beautifully kept and was a very pleasant surprise on arrival as it was bigger than we had imagined. The heated pool was perfect for our stay in April as there were a few cloudy days which were a bit chillier , but the pool meant we could still swim. In general the weather was good and we had lots of sun. The pool and garden area was immaculately kept, and the orange blossom provided a wonderful scent which was very pleasant whilst enjoying the pool. The villa is situated in a very peaceful, secure location, but close enough to visit the stunning beaches and town of Lagos just 10 minutes drive away. The beaches are unmissable and at this time of year were almost empty! The owners Teresa and Jose were most welcoming and did their all to ensure we had a great holiday, thank you we will not hesitate to return!

“Beautiful rural location, gorgeous pool, spacious villa needs updating”
Had a wonderful week-long stay at Villa D'Avozinha with our 4 and 1 year old boys. The pool is the highlight - we paid €120 to have it heated - well worth it as our neighbours said theirs was freezing. The villa and grounds are spacious and the neighbouring orchard is a real bonus with plentiful oranges, grapefruits and lemons daily. Geese and hens (behind wire fences) were a delight for our children and a swing and a slide on site were also plus-points. The only downside is that the villa furnishings need updating - kitchen and bathrooms work fine but are dated (nice hot powerful shower). Our bed was very very uncomfortable. We were grateful for a cot and high chair as well as beach and pool toys plus a selection of building blocks - all meant we didn't have to pack all the 'extras' for the kids. We booked the holiday as a package with Thomson and it included a basic hire car which we paid to upgrade. There are many superb beaches with lovely beach-side restaurants within a half hour drive. Our favourites were Burgau and Salema. Would we return? Yes if the bed was changed!! And finally, huge thanks to Teresa and Jose the owners who live next door - the welcome hamper was much appreciated and my husband was particularly pleased to be able to watch the FA Cup final with you!!!

“A little taste of heaven”
This year is our third visit to stay. We are the type of travellers who always say 'don't go back' there are too many new places to discover but for this we make an exception. It's not the most luxurious of villas but it is well equipped and in the most lovely spot near the coast. We pay extra to have the pool heated and I guarantee you will love being able to step into the warm water. Fresh oranges, grapefruit, lemons and avocados straight from the trees. Sometimes fresh eggs from the hens on site. It's a hidden gem! We will be back for our weekly escape from the madness of life same time next year
