Description from owner

Description

Set in half acre of terraced garden with olive trees, lavender and roses, the villa's sun terrace offers stunning views over the Durance valley and Cezanne's Montagne Saint Victoire in the distance. The location is secluded, tranquil and private, looking out over the vineyards and countryside from it's hillside location, yet it is a short 10 min walk to the centre of Lauris with it's Monday market, four restaurants, three bakeries, small supermarket and old village dating from the 15th C, including a dozen or so artists workshops and galleries. If you chose you can be totally self contained, but the location also provides a wonderful base for visiting everything that is beautiful in Provence.

The villa is spacious (1700 square feet or 150 m2) and has three double bedrooms plus a double sofabed, with three bathrooms (two en-suite), a large beamed and vaulted sitting room (500 square feet or 45 m2), cool in summer with luxury cream leather suite for eight, and a separate large dining room (250 square feet or 20m2) seating eight. Terraces, open, covered, and shaded surround the villa permitting relaxation and dining out of doors in all weathers. Pool 10mx5m.

DAYTRIPS: Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Menerbes and Lacoste, popularised by Peter Mayle, and recognised as some of the most beautiful villages in France, all within 5-20mins drive, easy access to rest of Provence.

The beaches of the Cote D’Azur, the Gorge du Verdon(Europe’s Grand Canyon), the Camargue, the vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape and Gigondas, together with the Roman ruins in Arles, Nimes, Avignon, Orange and the Pont du Gard can all be easily visited in leisurely daytrips.

SUNSHINE: Designed and positioned to fully exploit the climate and sunshine of Provence the villa faces south-south-east and enjoys sublime views over the surrounding valleys at sunrise with Cezanne’s Mont St. Victoire dominant in the distance. In the master bedroom suite on the first floor (en-suite bathroom and toilet) the sun literally pours straight through the large window - a wonderful way to wake up every morning or even brush your teeth.

MISCELLANEOUS:
COMMUNICATION: Avignon (TGV), Marseille Airport, Aix-en-Provence & Arles are all within 45 minutes drive. An 8-9 Hour Drive from Calais & only 10 miles from ‘Auto-route Du Soleil’ the whole of Provence is within easy access - Cannes, Nice & Monte Carlo are 2-3 hours by auto-route.

Further details indoors

EQUIPMENT: The villa has Fresat satellite TV, 55inch HD LCD TV with SKYNEWS, BBC news, CNBC & Bloomberg, DVD and CD system. The kitchen is open plan and fully-equipped with refrigerator-freezer, gas and electric hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. Outdoor barbecue.

Free wi-fi internet broadband connection.

Electric under-floor central heating in the main part of the house means it can be occupied all year round. There is no extra charge for heating in the winter, guests are simply asked to be sensible. All linen and towels, except swimming towels, are included in rental and changed once a week.

Further details outdoors

The villa has a large sun terrace directly in front of the sitting room. Yet, when the sun is so hot that you only want to escape it, then the coolness of the vaulted sitting room offers respite, whilst a further terrace provides the option of lunch or dinner under shaded trees during hot summer days. The swimming pool, 10mx5m, however, is positioned so that it enjoys the sun until early evening.

There is gated car-parking space for at least six cars, most under shade.

Response from the owner Querido alejandro Gracias por la amable revisión. ¡Fue un placer reunirme con usted y sus amigos y pensar en la cena siempre trae buenos recuerdos! Espero volver a encontrarnos! Me he tomado la libertad de incluir una traducción al inglés de su amable revisión a continuación. Amabilidad de los frutos, Bryan Dear Alejandro, Thank you for the very kind review. It was a pleasure to meet with you and your friends and thinking of the dinner always brings back fond memories! Hope to meet again! I have taken the liberty of including an english translation of your kind review below. Kind regards, Bryan 'The house is very well equipped and has great views from where you can see the valley and at sunset, the moonrise when it is clear. The site is quiet but close to the urban center where you can do daily shopping. The environment of the garden has trees and that allows to hear the song of the birds and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere in the two terraces that it has. Given the dates we could not try the pool unfortunately. Bryan has been very kind and we share with him a very lively BBQ evening mixing French, English and Spanish. It has also been effective in solving a problem that occurred to us at home, giving us all kinds of facilities so as not to lose any of the activities we had planned. In short, a house, an environment and an excellent host that allow you to enjoy during the day of tourism in Provence and rest in the afternoon, after the excursions, in a relaxed atmosphere.'

Response from the owner Querido Pedro, Gracias por la amable revisión. ¡Fue un placer reunirme con usted y sus amigos y pensar en la cena siempre trae buenos recuerdos! Espero volver a encontrarnos! Me he tomado la libertad de incluir una traducción al inglés de su amable revisión a continuación. Saludos cordiales, Bryan Dear Pedro, Thank you for the very kind review. It was a pleasure to meet with you and your friends and thinking of the dinner always brings back fond memories! Hope to meet again! I have taken the liberty of including an english translation of your kind review below. Kind regards, Bryan 'We are three couples of friends from Getxo that we like to move on vacation, through Europe, in rural houses. This time he played French Provence, more specifically, its southeast part, from Nimes to Aix-en-Provence. It is an area populated with beautiful cities and towns: Aix-en-Provence, Ansouis, Arles, Avignon, Bonnieux, Gordes, L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Les Baux-de-Provence, Lourmarin, Menerbes, Nimes, Roussillon , Saignon, Saint-Remy-de-Provence, ... For this, we rented a beautiful house, "Brume de l'Aube", in a little village called Lauris. If the towns and monuments we loved, with the house we hit the bull's-eye. A magnificent mansion of three beautiful rooms with their full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy and comfortable living-dining room, and two beautiful terraces with their sofas and tables that allowed us to prepare the barbecue and enjoy the evenings, while planning the excursion the next day, and, in addition, we had the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful moon. And all surrounded by a well-kept garden dotted with flowers and olive trees. We were also able to enjoy, at a dinner party, the company of the owner of the farm, Bryan, an attentive, kind, pleasant and empathetic person. Thank you very much for everything, Bryan. I said, "Better, impossible." '
