Description from owner

Description

Henrys Cottage is a lovely welcoming traditional fishermans cottage, ideal for both families and couples, sleeping 4.

EV CHARGING AVAILABLE FROM FEB 2024 at additional cost - to be agreed with owner direct. Under NO circumstance is EV charging allowed via 13amp house plug.

Open fires and a suntrap garden makes it suitable all year round. Ideally situated in the beautiful & friendly seaside village of Winterton on Sea, ideal for a beach holiday and exploring the broads. Bed linen and towels provided. Free WiFi included.

Henry's is a former fisherman's cottage that dates back approximately 150 years with comfortable lounge, fabulous newly fitted kitchen dining room seating 4, downstairs shower room and two double bedrooms, with drawers, wardrobe or hanging space. (one also has a cot bed suitable for a small child). As an old cottage I have tried to remain sympathetic to it's rustic character and charm, allowing you to enjoy it's relax and unwind in pleasant surroundings.

PLEASE NOTE. This is an old fishermans cottage, the stairs are steep, wooden and turning, not suitable for people with mobility issues.

Outside there is parking for two cars and pleasant gardens both front and back, a decking area with garden furniture to enjoy the first cup of tea of the day, a brick built barbecue and sun loungers available for the most relaxing of days.

Situated in the heart of the village there is always someone to talk to, and you're never far from anywhere, in addition to the pubs and shops there is an excellent children's playground for a change from the beach, while on the edge of the village is a beautiful church dating back to the 1500's and seals often seen on the beach and playing in the sea, meaning that there is always something to do or somewhere to visit

PLEASE NOTE due to the design of the cottage there are several small internal steps and the staircase is wooden, quite steep and turns, and therefore not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Please ask if you have any concerns before booking.

“Amazing stay”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2020

We had a wonderful stay at Henry’s Cottage and in Winterton-On-Sea. Beautiful beaches, wonderful village with a surprisingly well stocked little shop and plenty to do in each direction. We came loaded to Henry’s Cottage but needn’t have. Marie (owner) has everything you could possibly need for a self catering break, plus more. All in all, this was a really happy family staycation.

“A lovely place for a week on the beach”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2020

We’ve been to Winterton-on-Sea for the past 25 years and love walking the beach and the area of outstanding national beauty behind the dunes. You can easily hike for ten miles and not tire of the scenery. The seal colony is huge, probably in the region of 2,500, and a sight to see. Henrys Cottage is perfectly equipped and suited for a family or, as in our case, a couple. It has all the charm of a genuine fisherman's cottage in the village centre with the typical two up to down layout. It has been extended and updated and offers all the creature comforts including a very effective heating system essential for a winter or early spring stay. Marie is a very kind host and communication with her was easy and prompt. Because of flight cancellations at Heathrow (Covid 19) we needed to stay an extra couple of nights. Marie was extremely generous in granting us an extension on our booked week. In summary: top notch and highly recommended.
