Description

Our charming country cottage, in the heart of Scotland offer a relaxing break away from it all. Situated right in the middle of an area steeped in Scottish folklore. There are many castles & monuments to sites ideal for a fun family day out or for the serious historian.

The cottage is only a few miles from the banks of Loch Lomond and are ideally suited to exploring Central Scotland. There are some stunning drives in the Trossachs and up towards the forests of Argyll. If you prefer some more urban pursuits Stirling and Glasgow are only a 30 minute drive away, Edinburgh and Perth an hour.

Locally there are excellent opportunities for walking, sight seeing, cycling & mountain biking, pony trekking, fishing, golf and lots more. The immediate area also offers a wide range of amenities, including shops, quality sit-in and take-out restaurants.

Our cottage has fibre broadband access so that you can stay in touch. The cottage has been tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you would require to make your stay relaxing. French doors open onto a private garden, overlooking our fields. This means that you can enjoy the beautiful countryside without having to move.

We welcome you after your journey with home baking, tea, coffee and milk in your fridge & give a personal service throughout your stay.

Kitchen: Ploughmans Cottage has a bright & cosy dining kitchen. It is very well equipped family catering. With welsh dresser and French doors leading out to the private garden.

Reception Room: A light room, with comfortable seating for all guests, furnished classically, with French doors leading onto the patio & private garden. There is a flat screen TV with full digital channels, DVD player and a good selection of DVDs for all age groups. There is also a range of games & children's toys.

Bedroom 1: Double bedroom, upstairs with fitted wardrobe.

Bedroom 2: Twin room, master bathroom next door.

Master Bathroom: This bright, well equipped room has a large bath/shower & vanity unit.

WC: Downstairs toilet & wash hand basin.

Entrance Hall: The hallway has a cloakroom with storage.

Private Garden: The garden can be accessed from both the kitchen and reception room. There is a furnished, paved patio & BBQ with a secure lawn surrounded by farm land.

“Fabulous week”

We spent a wonderful week at Ploughmans cottage. It was a beautiful cottage in a quiet, tranquil setting and was perfectly placed for visits to Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk and Edinburgh. There were barn swallows, a Buzzard and a deer who frequented the area during our stay which were a delight to see. Our host Carol also baked us a beautiful ginger cake to enjoy. I would highly recommend

Response from the owner This lady and her husband arrived at our lovely cottage on our working farm which was advertised as such. Being a vegetarian and her friend a vegan, she sadly had a different opinion than all our past guests, our visitors book will confirm. I wish her all the best for the future.
