Villa Asmara is just 4 minutes from downtown Ubud yet peaceful & quiet, with one of the best views in all of Bali. Perfect for two with a gorgeous pool and right on the rice fields, it's tropical living at it finest - Heaven at an Earthly Price!

Asmara at Harmony means "Romance" in the local language and it's the perfect love nest for a honeymoon or for singles or couples seeking absolute privacy. Asmara has a huge deck and meditation garden right on the rice fields and both sunrise and mountain views to the north as well as a panoramic vista of the terraces to the north and west. An open plan living room with fully retractable doors and a full kitchen allows for indoor/outdoor living and the spacious master bedroom is designed for intimacy and privacy with its oversized luxury canopied queen bed and rich decor.

Designed for personal indulgence, the en-suite stone and granite garden bathroom comes with a a lovely rain shower and a unique open "museum style" sculpture frame wall looking out to a Buddha in a private garden.One of the favorites of Asmara's guests is to awaken before dawn and watch the early light lift the mist over the ocean of rice and experience a Bali Sunrise right from your private deck with coffee in hand. It's an experience like no other in Bali.

The gorgeous Harmony 15 meter infinity pool on the edge of the rice fields is only steps away from Asmara through Harmony's lush landscaping. Situated on the very edge of the bluff overlooking the rice it has a shallow end seating area for relaxing after you've done your laps! It's central for use by the five villas at Harmony yet due to its size and differing guest schedules, it's rare not to have it to yourself. We don't have pool hours so feel free to take a moonlight swim at 3 am!

Your stay includes a fabulous daily cooked breakfast prepared in your villa each morning (for two) of delicious pancakes or eggs, fresh tropical fruit tea or coffee and juice to start your day. Our onsite staff will help with all of your needs from arranging tours and sightseeing, car or scooter rental, personal laundry and sight-seeing itineraries as well as giving you tips for the best shopping and massage in Ubud. A private chef can also be arranged to cook you traditional Indonesian cuisine right in the privacy of your own villa in your fully equipped kitchen. Or, if you would like to do it yourself, book a private cooking class. Our chef is very reasonable and an amazing cook!

Your stay includes free wifi, a laptop sized safe, fully equipped kitchen, towels, TV/DVD, parking, laundry (by arrangement), daily staff service, a yoga deck, sun loungers and the priceless ambiance of the Harmony lifestyle.We are located on the edge of a huge rice paddy in the village of Lodtunduh, about 2 km from Ubud and not far from the Monkey Forest and all the world class shopping on Hanuman Street and cultural activities and restaurants in Ubud.

Centrally located for all of Bali's sights and activities with Sanur beach about 12 miles away and Seminyak, Kuta and Legian are easy drives for a whole day out with a different vibe. Or you can go up the hill to Kintamani and the hot springs at Lake Batur in an hour or so. Temples abound everywhere - from Besakih, the "Mother Temple" to Tanah Lot on the ocean (two of the most famous and holy) and we can organize tours to anywhere on the island and to Lombok too....It's cooler in the Ubud area than the beach. A/C is not needed at Harmony due to our location right on the edge of the rice fields. We almost always get a breeze and Asmara has 2 powerful overhead fans and a high ceiling to keep the air flowing. You'll find our design for indoor/outdoor living works for your comfort.

“Dishonest on so many levels”

Response from the owner We welcome all guest feedback and know we can't satisfy every guest all of the time. But we should address the issues mentioned by this guest as opinion isn't fact. We feel she wrote such a negative review because when she left unexpectedly and asked for a refund even though the booking was non refundable made through Airbnb (and subject to their booking rules). She doesn't state though that even though we had no obligation to do so, we did offer her a partial refund based on being able to re-rent the villa for the period of the rest of her booking. We wonder why she waited seven months after she stayed to leave a review!! Please read our positive reviews for accurate and unbiased comments. Our listing on Airbnb clearly describes our villa accurately. Yes, we do have a dog, only one, she's a sweet and absolutely lovable animal that guests adore and well looked after. The villa is fenced off from the rice field and village dogs in the rice field (when there is no rice they play in the watery fields) can't get in to our villa common area that way. The village dogs experienced by this guest may have come through the parking lot into the common area as this is rural Bali but they aren't aggressive at all. The staff just shoo them away. It's so infrequent. In fact we don't have other comments about strange dogs from guests before. The rice cycle is described in our listing and of course we always want every rice field to be green and beautiful for our guests at all times, some fields are being planted as others are harvested and there is some time when part of the huge rice fields in front of the villa are full of water but not yet planted. As for animals and insects, this is a rice field, it's part of the charm. In fact we state in our listing "Harmony is open to nature and you should expect visits from insects and lizards in our tropical climate. There are very few animals that are dangerous even although they may look so! But be prepared to be close to nature in all its beauty". If the guest had read our detailed listing she would understand that is part of living on the edge of a rice field. We don't know what large reptiles she refers to as there aren't any. The current photos are about 6 months old and frequently updated (we just added hammocks to the villa) . The villa is cleaned daily and deep cleaned when a guest leaves. The floors are terrazzo which looks lovely and is great to walk on in the tropics but does stain a little unfortunately but they are cleaned daily and machine polished and sealed once every 6 months. The mosquito nets are washed weekly and when the villa is deep cleaned. The geckos eat the mosquitoes which is why we have so few anyway. Surprisingly, nobody has ever commented that a gecko kept them awake! The villa is exactly 2.2 km from downtown Ubud. It takes 10 minutes by car and 45 minutes walk. We rent scooters at the villa too as that's the easiest way to get around. Our location is good because even though close to town it's quiet and peaceful and away from traffic noise of the city and main roads. "Luxury" is subjective of course. Our villa rents for a modest amount compared to others nearby and our guests have rated us as 4-5 star luxury. Yes, we wish this guest had been really happy at Harmony like the several hundred other guests who have enjoyed our villa but she obviously decided during her stay she wanted to be in the city and not on a rice field.
