“Fun in the snow”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2012

The cabin was clean and very homey. We had a great time! We plan to stay again.

“Basically an average little cabin in a nice quiet neighborhood,”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2012

Location was fantastic. The kids wanted to go sledding and we only had to go in the back of the cabin, where a large national park snow covered hill offered them plenty of snowy excitement. No need to go to the crowded sledding parks. Cabin was basically nice. Linens were clean. For more than $600 for two nights, though, I expected better attention to detail. The shower head handle holder was cheap RV style plastic, was cracked and the shower head flew off of it when turned on, getting anyone within range completely wet. The bathroom itself had peeling wall paper. The fireplace insert (the glass doors and frame) came out while the fire place was lit and we had to prop it up, which was a dangerous thing with kids around. Parking was street only. Other than that, very nice, good attitude from customer service.

Response from the manager It's great to see you had such a nice time in Cabin Idle Ours. And thank you so much for the informative review! We evaluate each review and do out best to use the feedback that our guests give us to improve each guest’s personal experience. We look forward to helping you in the future.

“Quiet Retreat”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2011

Just a short not to express my pleasure with our stay at Cabin Idle Ours. The house was clean and very homey. We much preferred this cabin on the north shore over the noise and crowded surroundings of the south shore. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

“Spectacular”

Cabin Idle Ours #933 area was in remote neighboorhood but close to the forrest which was beautiful.Peaceful, roomy, and pleaseant. I would Love to go back here again sometime because you can go on nature hikes and walk down to the lake. There was confusion about the rain check. Manager Mike worked with me to correct the issue in which I had awesome!! The front desk managment are wonderful people and try to aid customers in having a wonderful stay.

“Nice cabin but very very dated”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2011

Look I loved the cabin in many many ways, it was a great building, a great space, and cosy and clean. But in this day and age a lcd tv can cost about $200 and plates, wine glasses and cutlery are very cheap from Ikea, so suggest spending $1000 and really making this place feel like a stylish and sensible retreat, not somewhere yuor grandma died in 10 years ago, some of the glasses and things were horribly old

“Not as expected!!!”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2011

The website stated that this cabin had queen-size beds in both bedrooms, in which it did not. Both bedrooms only had full-size beds. The bath tub had an issue. The drain would back-up into the tub when showering, and leave a very sticky greasy black residue around the tub, and on your feet. There also was no plastic shower curtain, just a cloth one, so every time somebody showered, the floor would get all wet. The cabin was not what you could really call dirty, but it was obivous that it had not been cleaned in awhile. There was died flies & spider webs everywhere.

“Cabin Idle Ours #933”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2010

The cabin was very nice. It had all of the amenities we needed for my wife and two little kids. It was very clean and the cabin was supplied with beddings (could have used some newer blankets), pots and pans, fireplace and a bbq - which were used frequently during our stay. The heater made a clicking sound when it turned on each time the temp fell below 60 degrees. That kept me up at night. It was in a secluded area, which we wanted and we found a nice trail behind cabin for our hikes. I would stay there again in the future.

“Motel 6 is better”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2010

The beds are way too small for two. there is a loose wood beem right at the entry way that is not safe. The bathtub water is hard to turn off and allows water to leak. not enough tp, no paper towels. lots of tree debree in front of the door showing that no one cleaned it prior to our arival. missing screens so bugs get in. guests in the smaller room complained of getting rash from the bed linens.

Response from the manager We are sorry this unit did not meet your needs. It is one our more affordable units. The faucets seems to be working fine now. We will speak to he owner regarding some additinal pots and pans. Our web site states the sizes of bed to help people in their decision making process.
